In reply to: 's message, "Which hotel will be the host hotel for this years pageant?" on Monday, March 29, 01:22pm

That's great that the princess program is doing well. However last year Taylor even commented that she was missing her first week at college. Several of the teen contestants that I talked to said they were missing the first week of school. AND several of the princess moms said they'd have more girls attending from their states but they can't take them out of school. While there are still several areas that still start after Labor Day, that's not the case everywhere. Since the pageant promotes scholarship and the importance of education it's odd that they don't work on the dates to allow as many participants as possible NOT to miss school. Again that's great that things are going well, but imagine what might be if more could participate in the princess program? Things might be beyond everyone's expectations!

I have a son that will be heading off to college at the same time. we will have to tag-team parent on this one and neither event are one that should be missed!
