Now is the time to get involved. With Sigma Pi, brothers were held accountable. As Delta Pi, the exec boards will take on more meaning, and one bad group of scummies could screw everything up.

Anyone with background in managing investments, risk management, or real estate should give Clug a call. I mentioned accountability - make the active brothers accountable to you. There's no better way to do that than by controlling their money.

It would be nice to see some generous alumni put down a down payment for a house. While I was at Blomsburg many of the alumni didn't do squat, while others were invaluable.

If you fit into the former, make up for it by helping out your fraternity.

I want to inform everyone that our reign of sig pi is over. We are once again DELTA PI. We still owe sigpi nationals $1807 for back dues(insurance), but once that money is payed we will be officialy DELTA PI local and recognized by the school. The school was wondering if anyone would be interested in setting up an alumni exec board.

ummm...a result of the no keg/beer-can university policy?

vanilla extract party's??? ;)

from

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2000/06/29/national/main210843.shtml

Getting High On Vanilla Extract

BLO0MSBURG, Pa. - Some people are apparently getting a kick out of vanilla. A number of supermarkets in the Bloomsburg area are taking vanilla extract off their shelves, because it's being swiped.

It's not the vanilla the thieves are after, but the alcohol in the extract. Pure vanilla extract, which is used for cooking, must be at least 35 percent alcohol. That would make it 70-proof, somewhere between schnapps and vodka.

Bill Jones, manager of Boyer's Food Market in Berwick, says they've been finding empty vanilla bottles in the parking lot. Now customers have to ask for the extract at the service desk.

I first wanted to thank all the alumni that came for homecoming. we had a great time and hope that even more will come out next year. We have been Sigma Pi now for four years and have recently come to the conclusion that all Sigma Pi does for us is steal our money. After talking with the school we learned that we most likely can switch back to delta pi and remain a recogonized fraternity. In order for us to do this we need some written documents stating that the lawsuits are over with and cannot be brought back up. If anyone has anything please contact myself or Mike Clugston. We both can be reached at 570 380-5567.

The weather was BEAUTIFUL up at Bloom's homecoming. Geronemo and I were the first to arrive at the fraternity's new house on Clinton Ave. This house sits behind the old Zeta place. Off the front porch there's a clear view over the Bloom Diner, past the Police Station, straight down East St. By 4 o'clock there were about 30 alumni with many #'s below my 368. I can say we were pleasently suprized with the current brothers and the location of their house. Anyone concerned about pledging this year must e-mail me for info. The fraternity has its feet back on the ground, and judging from all the fine young ladies at their side, these guys are forging into the future.
That's all for now...

Hi to everyone. Just like to say that this new message board looks nice and to give an update as to what is going on with us active brothers. This Friday, March 23 is our banquet at the Woodlands. We are all looking forward to this a lot. We plan to get nice and fucked up, and laid by the hot dates we are all bringing. We currently have 19 brothers going and we need 25, 6 more guys to go and their dates to get the 50 people required. I would like to know if any recent alumni would like to go. The cost is $73 dollars per couple, you'll have to ask a brother to share a room. If your interested call me about it at 387-6305 or Hawkswell or Sobo by Thurs. I know it's not a lot of time but that's it.

Hey bros. I tried to get up there this semester, but I really didn't have the time. From what i have been hearing there seems to be some serious issues that the town is raising through its classic stupidity. A friend of mine told me that Seseme is out of hand -- with searches of students and vehicals, etc -- and that the police had cracked down on any form of partying. I also heard that the ACLU is suing the town as a result of its actions.

What concerns me the most is that a law may be passed limiting students from being in off campus housing if it is more than one student per house. There is also something in the works about limiting parties to under 300 people without a permit. Needless to say that will affect the fraternity, and could be a big step backward.

Let us all know what's happening (like if this is really all true), and if you need any help from alumni or people who got the hell out of there like myself.

peace,

Subject: 8th Annual Delta Pi Golf Freak Show

Author:
Ginsu 407
[ Edit | View ]

Date Posted: 19:15:54 08/21/01 Tue

Welcome back scum bags.

On July 21, 2001 the 8th annual delta pi golf freak show was held at willow run demolished golf course. 44 freaks ranging in numbers from 360 to 600 showed up to drink with the brothers. we all met at russels at 10 am (by the way russel said he misses the brothers stopping in on there way home to the house). Needless to say we went to the course at 1:30 pm all larried up. We departed in a scramble. As everyone left to go to there hole the covers to styrofoam coolers blew off the top off the cooler and ended up all over the course (that was just the beginning). The majority of us finished however several of us did not (including me). Instead of completing the last 3 holes I decided to go swimming in one of the water hazards (i did not find any golf balls). Additionally, Mike Castner won closest to the pin with the golf cart, Chewy (Randy Faller) and Jeff Halsey won farthest travel from Wisconsin and California respectively (they both came in just for the outing and they both said they are returning next year). Quag won quickest exit (he left before the 1st hole because his wife flagged him down on his cell phone and told him to get home), Stanky (Fran Stancato), and Brad Jaffee won longest drive (jaffee kicked his ball 50 yards after it landed), BT and I won closest to the pin, Rick Dixon number 360? won lowest number, Chris McGinnty number 600? won highest number, the best bag was sleepy (he had his check to me by the end of april) worst score was won by skip, fred, frey and fabian, best score was won by chewy, stanky, pro and shroomlander.

As the day was ending at the golf course, as expected we did not finish the keg, so we took the keg and tap with us to the go kart track. There we took over the track and about 10 of us got kicked off the track after we tried to simulate dale earnhardt's crash. As I was about to leave I realized I left a bunch of items behind at the golf course and went back (with the stolen keg in my car) to pick up the items. The golf course (not realizing what type of shape the couse was in because we finished so late and not realizing we left with the keg) returned all my items to me and thanked me for coming to there course (I am not sure if we will be invited back, I will probably have to use a different name next year).

From there the majority of us (the youngest scum passed out, some slithered out) went to harrys and hess's. At 1 am I had my fill so I asked if anyone wanted to go to the house (like it was still ours). Chewy and Pro took me up on it and we proceeded to the house. We sure don't live there anymore. New doors, windows, walls, etc. After an hour of walking around the house and listening to Pro talk about the smell of the house we called it a night.

The next morning a bunch of us met at harrys, the buckhorn and at russels again. By 11am I had enough and got the hell out of there. The farther I traveled the better I felt.

I am not the most creative writer, so to sum it up we had a great time. I don't know of anyone who won't return. Next year we are shooting for 72 brothers (18 holes, a 4 some for each hole). The date is set for July 20th meet at russels 10 am or sooner. Send your $35 down payment to me at 60 church st, victor ny 14564.

Dismally yours,
Ginsu 407

Ode to the Graduate

Have I lost my touch or just gotten old?
The beers I drank, the lies I told
All seems so far far away
I have to move on, wish I could stay
Time flies like the wind
A new chapter soon will begin
Long days in suits, but money and cars
No more suckin' nitrous and closin' the bars
I can't complain though, I had a good run
fucked enough chicks and had enough fun
so to teachers and students
I bid you goodbye
SUCK MY DICK BLOOMSBURG, I'M CUNT ALMUNI!

Using a search engine(you may need to try more than one), type "crag and fernville".
The correct website is part of a local genealogical society for the Bloomsburg/Fernville area.
Try again, it is a pretty cool picture.

Brothers,

Homecoming is a week away and we have a good turnout. It is still not to late to attend.

The following will be staying at the Econo-Lodge and the Buckhorn Inn: Don Dennis, Joe Accardi and Celeste, Mike Dugan, George Cooke and Debbie, John Weiss, Galen Wood, John Zuckero and Sandy, Jim Canterbury and wife, Wally Smith and Cindy, Carl Berlin and Stacey, and Jim Mc Cool.

Larry Gegugis, Rich Duffy and Bernie Landers will be at homecoming sometime on Saturday or Sunday. Gug’s daughter might be in the homecoming parade. Remember our heart float!

I will have cold beer in my room on Friday night. We have 2 tee times 8:30 and 8:40 on Saturday at Willow Run Golf Course( the old Briar Heights Course). Don, Joe, Mike, Cookie(last years champion), Weiss, Woody and Duffy are golfing. Could use 1 more to complete the foursomes.

We finally got in touch with all 12 from our pledge class. Eric Landers was the toughest to locate. He is outside of Towanda and is a flammable specialist for Dupont and is married with 5 children- 3 in college. I will try to attach some email that I have received, but that could be pushing my computer skill.

Looking forward to the weekend if you have any question or concerns call Joe 215 860 0147 or me 215 598 7869. Sincerely, Don

I really hope alot of alumni will make the trip up for homecoming. If you have no idea where the brown house is we'll send a delegation to Russels to find you're lush asses.

Well it's now a month into the semester and I have to beleive that the active brotherhood is much stronger than in recent years. Obviously our occupation of the Brown House plays a large role in this. The house is in a great location ( in an alley behing GEO ) and brothers and friends are constantly coming and going. We've had some great parties already and the house is a hit with all of the older greeks in bloom. However I am concerned about the possibility of the house being raided or busted by the long arm of the law. I believe the LCB is actively seeking out another large bust. It seems this happens every semester. One thing I think that will help is better relations with law enforcement and leaders in our fraternity who can talk with cops in the case of such an incident. I really don't think we have that type of leadership and I think some of the alumni could offer us some useful advice. Besides, knowing how to cover our asses will be an invaluable skill once we move on in life...hehe. 606

Tonight, while a sat and watched news of the terrorist attacks in New York and Washington, I (and I don't know why it took so long) suddenly remembered all of my brothers who very possiblly work in the Manhattan area. Now, as I am typing this realize that many more of you may have connections to close friends and loved ones who were near the explosions...
I am now an alumni of Delta Pi and with that, I am a person who is a part of the crowd who is just beginning to enter the workforce. I am reminded of conversations with some of the brothers around my pledge class (the 54th) who were so excited about getting jobs in and around New York. I can tell you that this type of thing hits close to home for a lot of us (as I am sure we all know).

Michael Sherwin and Ryan Moglia are fine and they have left messages on my answering machine.

As the days go on I am sure that the situation will not get any easier to swallow. ---The one thing that gives me any comfort as I watch real hardworking firefighters and police officers on TV pulling the dead out of the wreckage, is that the United States will strike back at
these "terrorists and the countries which give them support" with no mercy.

God I hope thats true...

Looks like something is happening up at bloom other then 44 freaks terroizing Willow Run last weekend.

1) Do we have a house? Noticed a reference to a brown house
2)Regarding pledging I heard of revisions. One thing you need to get back to is family lines. It is frustrating to hear that you don't do them anymore. Do any C-alumni still have them? Should probaly maintain on this web page someplace.
3)Will update the picture page soon as soon as Ginsu sends pictures from the Golf outing. Be looking for it http://www.geocities.com/jase421/dppage.html

To all freaks, young and old,

For the 7th year, a bunch of freaks (26 not be exact) are getting together on 7/21/01 in Bloomsburg to golf and terrorize the old dp house (we are going to jump off the crag after hess's). We are meeting at Russels at 11:30 am and golfing at 2:30 pm.

The tourney is a scramble (so no golf experience is needed-that is VERY true with this crew). Cost is $75 which includes golf, beer (of course), food afterwards, stogies (for smoking or for your significant other), range balls with your favorite dp saying (eg. to the tree scumbag, get out of the house you bag, etc), and a nice TKE like golf vest (acts as a floatation device so you can retrieve golf balls).

It would be great to have old c-alumni, new c-alumni and active scum to come and play. Drop me an email at JGINROCH@aol.com and let me know if you want more details. I do need a deposit by July 1. Pikers are not encourged to play.

Let me know.

WE LIKE IT HERE, WE LIKE IT HERE, YOU BET YOUR ASS WE LIKE IT HERE!!!

I spoke with a couple of DP officers during finals week and here's some current events/issues...

1)Six seniors graduated this spring, leaving 26 returning brothers next fall.
2)There's talk of revisiting the topic of "going Sigma Pi" . Same old issues, the added expense and are they getting any real benefits.
3)The active Brothers consider themselves "Delta Pi"
4)Delta Pi has regained some respect on campus.
5)The fraternity should be renting a house. Eight brothers will live in there and it's located near 2 greek houses. I don't have an address yet.
6)Pledging has changed. Although, the walk and push-up marathon are still being used.
7)Lastly, 3 or 4 brothers are up for the summer session and are living above Campus Beer. Phone is currently disconnected.
That's all for now...

Dave 'Pill' Worthington spoke with an alumni I think he said his number is 168. Anyway, he shared with Dave the way pledging is supposed to be and I hope to hear that he takes this info back to school and shares it with the other actives...just wanted to say that we need to re-evaluate what goes on and maybe get some older alumni in on what really is the traditional methods and get rid of some of the stupid shit...okay that's my 2 cents....

PS Garry Gray (539) extends his best wishes to all and we should congratulate him on passing his ADA boards...scary to think that yet another DP alumni in the medical field...

Author:

Thanks for posting an update Billy, I know that we are not seeing the 'traffic' here like we did on the last site, I hope that doesn't continue, as for the going national issue... We do have alot to thank Sigma Pi for. Here are the benefits off the top of my head:

1. INSURANCE - I know that alot of brothers are thinking that the insurance doesn't cover most areas in which we are exposed to liability, but it does help ALOT.

2. National recognition - We have recognition nationally that we can't get any other way, I know that I have spoken to many other chapters and have been invited to do to some really cool stuff, if the brothers can't afford to do it that's not the chapters fault, its the members.

3. Recognition on campus - what does that do for us? Bloom's greek budget was $76,000 last year. If we don't take advantage of the programs that's our fault. Preston Herring gave the IFC $5,000 for party managment. As Delta Pi we don't get any of that.

4. Rush - we can use the sigma pi advantage here, if we choose. Do we have effective rushes, no. Partly my own fault this last semester, I bite off more than I could chew. Sorry about that.

5. Continuity - We have resources that we don't use, like consultants and what not. Sigma Pi can help keep the fraternity together even when the key leaders graduate.

Well that the big stuff that I can tell you off hand. Don't get me wrong, I love the Delta Pi history, but we ahve to look ahead. Our active brothers HAVE to work at the Fraternity for it to be a sucess, shit doesn't just happen. It takes hard work from everyone, not just the officers and that's the majority of the problem. Until that time comes it doesn't matter what the name is.

The banquet was a great time, lots of fun. Thanks all alumni for the donations, we will have enough money for the composite. Fundraising is currently being continued, i'd like to sell shirts for greek week, and will look into that with the treasurer and myself to see if it's feasible with the money we currently have. To all active brothers, a reminder that this Wed night our composite pictures will be taken in Elwell from 8:00 to 9:30. Notify me if ya can't make it. Also there is a mandatory meeting Tuesday night at 9:00 like usual. Meet by info desk. Lastly, a TKE vigil will be held tommorrow, Monday the 26th, at Chi Theta Pi's (Spreader's) house at 9:00 pm, please attend. Wear your letters. I will be calling everyone to make sure we represent. If anyone has ideas for fundraising please post them. Thanks,

I noticed that on the first page of the web site, the old picture is back up. (Instead of the LED ZEPPLIN crashing)

With that (and more importantly) I noticed that the links to the picture pages were gone. Is there anyway to put those links back up? Maybe we can post some of our more current pictures from date parties and banquits on there as well.

We need some money badly. We are near broke and now have to pay for a $300 dollar composite because we are obligated to Fraternal Composites through a contract for 3 years. We need money ASAP. WE ABSOLUTELY NEED HELP PAYING FOR THIS. If you have some cash you'd like to donate please send it to the below address.

If you need more info call 570-387-6305

We greatly appreciate any donations given. Thanks.

Were there any recent goings on? Since this is a new board, don't know what happened the last couple weeks
