Date Posted: 02/15/05 10:18:27pm GMT-6

Here is a copy of Tracy's email. I'll also add the votes that I had so far. Hopefully, the rest will be added onto this forum instead of mass email! :-)

----PLEASE RESPOND WITH YOUR VOTE----

1- Black Angus July 9th ($28-$30 per person)…held reservation
2- Boardwalk August 6th ($25-$30 per person)…held reservation
3- Edgewater August ($30 per person)
4 -Treasure Ship Sept 10th ($21 + tax/tip per person)
5- Sharky’s August/Sept ($30 per person)

Saltwater Grill too expensive $50 a person

All of the locations can provide the same type of banquet food. It can be a
3 course sit down or buffet style.

Please vote on your location/date, so we can confirm something this WEEK.

Majority Vote wins…so start voting!!

Keep in mind the amount per person is only for food...we will charge $48 a person. (decorations, DJ, keepsakes, etc.)

Could you please remove the personal information from this page, or at least make it private so our personal email addresses aren't found with a Google search? The board is now four years old, so it would be wonderful if it could just be removed. Thank you, and take care.

I vote for the Boardwalk in August. Are we getting rooms out there as well?

Does anyone have access to a DVD Projector for our slide show?

Also, Kristi Olmstead is in the process of putting our 1995 slide show on DVD.

Does anyone want to volunteer to take the pictures off ofoto and put them on a DVD for a new slide show?

Edgewater does have one, but it cuts into our budget...they want to charge $250 +tax + grat.

I have a projector if you guys still need one. It can hook up to a laptop or tv. I don't have a screen for it, but you could display the pics on the wall.

Hey! Just a reminder - if you can't or don't want to send in your door prizes early that's fine, but PLEASE email me and let me know that you have it and will be bringing it. I need to know who donated what so i can put together a small advertisement for the businesses that donated. (to those of you who thought we weren't doing this any-more, we are. donaters were already told about it.) I'd appreciate a quick response so I can get this out of the way! Thank you all!!!

Off the Wall in PC can do the minifootballs for $1.39 a piece with anything we want on them (like the mascot, school name, and class of 1995, etc) for a minimum order of 100. The more you order, the lower the price gets. Also, there is a $40 set up and S & H fee from the printers. Let me know if I need to get an order placed and what to put on it!

*****FYI, for some reason my computer doens't allow me to get into this website at work which is where I spend most of my waking hours. So, Tracy, Kristi and Mel pretty much relay things for me on here. Trust me though, even though this is my first comment, I am behind the scenes. See my update thus far. This is a copy and paste of an email from 3 days ago.

Graham that is so awesome!!! Thanks for all the great input! Attached is a list so far of what who we have. We have gathered these names based on Classmates.com and people we have run in to. Lauren has also volunteer to help with the names we haven't found such as doing 411, yellow or white pages look up, etc..... so maybe you guys can split the year book down the middle and start that way. WE have around 115 so far so are heading in the right direction. See they link below and you guys email back on how you want to do it.

Lauren, please still plan on going and getting the time capsules. I have spoken with a few people to see if Kristi has done that and she has not and doesn't know if she will be able to. Thanks for that!

Ryan is finishing up the invitations we will be sending out so we are on pace for that and Katie is donating all of the stamps.

Please when you find someone as far as address and phone # please forward to Tracy, Kristi and myself as we are handling the master list. I have included them on the email so you have their email addresses.

Donna has volunteered to do the P&R (public relations) so I will email her what we have so far. I have included her on the list as well so if you get anything, please forward to her and let her know that you have it so she can keep a MASTER list of prizes and donations. We will be building a program for this so that we recognize the people who are donating so Donna, please make sure you are keeping that information together. :) Thanks for doing that. Below is what I have so far... in terms of ideas anyway (haven't recv any of this yet so may need you to be the pick up person). :) Maybe not though we will see.

-Graham (hopefully you don't mind) :) maybe a few car washes or oil changes, can you spare that?
-Kristi - can get from Outback a food voucher or something
-Myself - I have gotten my brother to agree to 2 FREE 30 min. massages
-Myself or Tracy - Taco Casa and Gyro Wrap gift certificates from Jeff English (Tracy - your parents can prob. get this)
-Myself - Eastern Federal Corp. aka Regency 11 movie tickets/passes
-Katie - Capt. Andersons gift certs.
-Kelly - maybe Schooners and Boatyard (drinks special, gift cards or food)
-Tracy - something from Thomas Leonard from Sharky's
-Mel or Dee - get something from Dana and Monty from Store.

More ideas would be: Glamour Shots, Buddy Pass, Travel Agency(for a big giveaway at the end maybe).

What else? That is all I've got for now. :)

Let me know if you'd like me to make the name tags for the reunion. I can come up with something nice to go along with the casual evening, and the formal evening. I didn't see a message that someone was already working on those, so let me know if you'd like me to start that. I will probably scan everyone's yearbook picture and use that.

I also have several slideshow programs and I can create something if need be. I make slideshows for my weddings each weekend - so it wouldn't be difficult. We could incorporate a slideshow in to some sort of a game/contest.

Since I work with pictures all day long, I'd love to see a lot of things done with pictures. If anyone has suggestions, let me know.

Hey Julie, would you be willing to take some pictures at the reunion. We would advertise your company and let people know the cost up front and could be prepared to pay you on Sat. night. I don't know your rates, but email me your info.(nbbrock143@aol.com) and I will pass it on to Shelly and the others.
In response to the name tags, I know Lauren Linsenmeyer had offered to help make them, but I am sure she could use some professional help. I will let her know that your are willing to help and get back with you.

Hey everyone. I sent a copy of the invitation to everyone I had in my Yahoo email address book. I tried to not send to committee members, since most of us have already sent our money in. I have to cross reference my address book with Tracy's master list. We figured it would be good to go ahead and send the invitation out via email so people could begin making financial and vacation plans. If anyone has any new addresses, please send them my way. I will be mailing out the invites as soon as they are sent to me. Thanks so much!!!

I like the photo memory books- $20 is not bad and it will be nice to have to look back on. The goody bags with koozies & candy are a great idea, although I don't think that popped popcorn is good. How about an un-popped bag of popcorn instead? We can slap a dolphin sticker on it or something. I like the trial-sized sunscreen idea and chapstick sounds good to me too. Who would we need to contact to get those little Mosley footballs? I think that's a great idea- it's nostalgic and should be cheap (possibly even donated).
We are going to have an awesome time and I hope everyone is getting excited about it!
Some more ideas for donations: If any of you have good relationships with past employers, try giving them a call to see if they'd want to donate something. Thanks!

Someone who lives in town, try calling up to the school and ask the cheerleading coach about the little footballs. We got them donated from a business in town and then we would decorate them sometimes with Sharpie markers in school colors. The coach should know where to order those from. Sorry I don't know more- they were always just handed to us!

I think the memory books sound really reasonable! It's also a great way for classmates who attend to show those who don't make it how much fun we all had and who all showed up so they might be more apt to attend the next reunion.

My husband mentioned how we might want to look into simple picture frames for the goody bags since there will be so much picture taking. I don't know if people would want it personalized or not in case they want to use it later for other pictures. Just an idea!
Tracy- I have been swamped this week but have the rest of the classmate's info, I just need to enter it and email it to you. I'll try for next week- sorry!

Does anyone have ideas on Memory Books?

I received some info from http://www.photomemorybooks.com.
They will provide their services for free which include:
Take posed pictures upon arrival
Take candid pictures throughout the event (Sat Night)
Take a group class picture
Take a committee picture
Take individual pictures of each person

The will provide packages for individual pictures and memory books.

We can send pictures from the other events and they will include the pictures in the memory book. Basically, it will be a mini yearbook. (Full color)

I think this sound like a great idea and it doesn't cost us anything!
The only catch is that if 20 memory books are not ordered they will not print the book. Books are $20 at the reunion and $25 after the reunion.

What do you think?

Hey Shelly and Tracey, I called the guy about the Koozies and he can get them for a $35.00 service fee and sixty-five cents per koozie. I will call him back about the baggies. If. anyone has any other ideas that I can check into, the more we get from him, I'm sure the better deal we can get.

Hey guys - so we are trying to come up with some cool hand out bags that include memorabilia from our class that we will put together with some of the money from the cost of the ticket.

I mentioned to Natalie that we were thinking about a koozy and she said that her husband Tim can get those for a really good deal. So she is looking in to that right now.

Katie mentioned matches - what do you guys think about that? At first I wasn't too sure about it, but the more I think about it, I collect them and it would be neat to have and cheap.

Some other really good ideas would be may be popped popcorn in orange and green cellophane - very cheap idea and we could start popping it a few days before or even get some donated from the move theatre so it is in larger quantities.

Someone mentioned chap stick or some type of beach items like "sample packets" of sunscreen - What else?

What about those mosley dolphin footballs that we used to get at the games? Someone want to call Mosley and see where we can get those or if they want to donate them or some?

Nat, I know we discussed the baggies for the handouts and you thought Tim may could get those for cheap? Can you still check on that please? Anyone else know where we can get some cheap or donated just in case?

Kristi found some dolphin candy that was cool too.

Let me know what you think...

I told Graham to get his sister Patrice and friend ready since she was senior class president. I think we need around 7 people. One or two to hand out name tags. One or two to collect tickets/scratch off name and the other to take money for those paying at the door. And then at least 3 floaters. Maybe one to do the keg drinks if they don't already have someone doing that from Edgewater.

Can you think of anything else we would need them to do besides that?

Hello all--

We still need some help with collecting people's information for the reunion.

Elizabeth Garl has been nice enough to start putting together a class list of people we are missing. She created a list from the yearbook and then looked them up in the phonebook. We need help with calling these people and verifying their info. It would really help to have someone in the PC area...so the phone calls are free.

Let me know if you would like to volunteer and I will send you the spreadsheet by email.

Thanks in advance for your help-

Ok people-

We need to decide on a password for ofoto...either dolphin or dolphins. Per Kim's comments we have had many emails that have said different passwords.

I plan on sending Ryan the updated info for the final invites this week, so we must stay consistent with this password.

I think one way to avoid this is to have 1 person send out the mass emails...anyone want to volunteer? I don't mind doing it, but maybe Kristi would be a good person since she has contacted most people on our list.

Thanks!

Mel got quotes from Dallas and the cheapest they can do it for is $700 (they normally get paid pretty well to do evenings somewhere) but they brought up a good point b/c Mel and I are really close to them and they said that it's probably not going to be music that everyone enjoys.

I agree that it is fun to go listen to them at the Treasure Ship while having a nice evening out on the water but maybe not exactly what we would want for the reunion.

So I say let's go with a DJ. For the same price or less they will do all the songs we want plus will provide the lighting that we would need. The band didn't know if they would be able to play our CD's so that wouldn't work.

Tracy, let's get some final decisions on the band maybe this week and let's go over again what Sound Pro was going to charge again and get the quote from Shannon as well. Sounds like she has a really good one too. :)

I have subscribed to a reunion planning site...below are the ideas on music for the reunion-

Bonus Class Reunion Tip: A loud band can drown out voices making it difficult for classmates to interact with each other.

Music will play a key role in the proceedings on the night of your reunion, so give time for thought on the matter. The first choice is between a live band or
DJ and taped music. If it's the band you settle for, arrangements have to be made well in advance - as soon as you decide to have one. If your band is a popular
one, they may require booking to be done months or even a year ahead.

Whether band or taped, the choice of music should be diverse enough to appeal to all demographic groups at the event. If there are a big number of youngsters,
the latest hits would be a good bet.

The one factor you need to ensure is that the music or band is not loud enough to drown out all voices even when standing close to each other. You have to remember
the main purpose for everybody turning up, many from quite a long way too.
Catching up with others is top priority so if the music is too loud, they may have to yell into each other's ear to be heard. Even better, try and have a section of the room devoted to conversations.

Cost for making the music arrangements can vary quite a bit. It's entirely dependent on the popularity of the band. In fact it's advisable to finalize the date of your reunion only after you get dates from the band. Due to all these
factors, make sure you have a signed agreement with the band as to the dates of the event. A deposit may also be required to make the booking.

That way you can ensure you give back to the school that gave you so much for life.

THANKS FOR READING!

Did I recall seeing where someone has already cross-referenced reunion.com with classmates.com or does that still need to be done? If it is done- anything else I can help with at this point? I plan on being in PC Easter weekend if I need to pick up anything to work on. Let me know!

Melissa-

I would put Mosley High School's phone number. I gave Mosley the info and we will fax them an invite as soon as Ryan has completed them. (850) 872-4400

Mosley said people call each year to find out about the reunion. In fact, people had already called to ask about details before I spoke with them.

Thanks to Melissa and her mom for the PSA!

I think that dress should be up to the individual. If some want to come formal, great. If some in jeans, fine. You have to remember that we are all individuals, and some people may be able to afford a suit, but will be uncomfortable all night because they are wearing it. Just like we all dressed differently then, well, some things don't change. Most people will be coming with at least a companion (friend, wife, husband, partner, whatever) that they will be dressed like. That way everyone is comfortable and will be able to enjoy the night and not worry that they can't walk in heels. I know it is easier to set a standard, but we want everyone to come and feel comfortable. I would say "business casual" is the norm, but no on should feel bad for wearing a prom dress or their best Levi's! Just my two cents.

My opinion---I don't think we should require a tie. But I also think we should make it known that people shouldn't wear jeans. In reference to Melissa's comments, I do agree that everyone has a different style of dress, but I don't think jeans are appropriate for a ballroom/conference center venue.

For the invites, let's leave it cocktail attire and then leave it up to the individual. Cocktail attire will mean dress shirt and pants, but a tie is not required. But I think people would understand that cocktail attire doesn't mean jeans!

Just my two cents!

Okay people. I heard I got a little heat for the comment about attire. I was just mentioning suggestions. Never did I say it was required. When I said we were going to make it a cocktail/suit/shirt and tie event, I was trying to clarify an questions on what a cocktail attire would be. Never in my right mind would I think of kicking someone out because of what they were wearing. Jeans should definitely be a no no, but if someone slips up, then so be it. I like the info Tracy put on this site. This does only happen once every 10, 15, or 20 years, so why not make it special? We aren't asking people to reunite every year. The price that we have set is very resonable. Reunion time is 6 months away, and if people need to save, then they need to save. It needs to be a fun and nostalgic night for sure. The last thing we all want is for people to complain that it sucked or was too expensive. Well, people are going to complain about something no matter what. Just my thoughts.

I have been getting different feedback about how formal Saturday night should be...please respond with your thoughts.
I know we decided on cocktail attire, should we require a TIE???
Speak up men!

Read below the ideas from the reunion planning website-

Formal reunions can be more enjoyable for many even at the cost of $50 to $100 per head. It’s more likely to be memorable and enjoyable. When it’s an occasion that comes once in 5 or 10 years, it may well be worth paying the extra
bit

There's no reason why you shouldn't consider making your reunion a formal event. Sure it will cost more but that will make it all the more memorable and enjoyable. Especially since it's not every day that you have a reunion, or even every year for that matter. Something that happens once in about 5, 10 or 20 years, if not more, deserves all that much more investment and effort. At about
$50 or 100 per head, it's not all that intimidating.

Make sure the venue you decide on for your reunion is conveniently located for all the participants, some of whom will be living a considerable distance away.
Map out a radius of the different locations your classmates will be coming from, on a map and choose a location that falls roughly halfway from one extreme to the
other. If you decide on having other activities for the reunion, make sure all the locations are conveniently close to the main venue. Ideally it should also be close to your school.

As far as possible try and make sure the surroundings of the venue can serve to remind everybody of school. Put up decorations of items that belonged to the days of your youth.

You could also go in for an informal event, a small gathering or low expense affairs for which some handy tips have been put together for you. For formal events, the most appropriate venues could be country clubs, banquet rooms and hotels. Many hotels offer both a ballroom facility to serve as the setting for your reunion, and rooms to let out for those coming from o0ut of town for the
occasion. Even for the residents of the area, they may prefer to stay the night at the hotel after the event, rather than to drive their way back home at night.
So having the option of staying over will be appreciated.

When booking rooms at the hotel for the reunion invitees, make sure you find out about discounts that hotels normally have for large group bookings. Also try and get the rooms adjoining each other on the same floor. This will create less disturbance for the other guests in the hotel and allow you to be more uninhibited.

Again from the Reunion planning website.

Nostalgia of school days add to making reunions special, never skimp on
the details.

Reunions are all about nostalgia - that warm reflective mood reveling in days gone by. It is what the very purpose of a reunion, is in a certain sense. That's why reunions feel so special, delightful, surprising and so much fun.

No matter how meticulous your planning is, how detailed and precise, there will always be unexpected hitches that crop up at the last minute. Once you have everything in place, in time for the event, do a once-over to identify any
glitches that you may have overlooked.

The details, no matter how little and insignificant, are what determine the success or failure of a reunion. So don't skimp on details. Objects belonging to
that part of your life when you were in school are always in demand at reunions. Anything and everything from school yearbooks, to T-shirts and banners that has
an association with the prime of your life qualify.

A fun activity is issuing name badges at the registration table on the main day of your reunion. The most fun is in making them from old photographs for each of
the guests. They put you a lot more in control of the proceedings and the best thing about them is that they will spark off delighted conversations by the dozens. To get old photographs for the name badges, you could photocopy the
senior pages from your school yearbook so that you have everybody's picture.
Even more fun is if you can use photos from the freshman year. The comparisons between then and now are sure to result in howls of laughter and shouts of amazement
among everybody. Another major plus for name badges, is that they can be very effective as icebreakers.

For first night reunions, name badges should be a must.

Thanks again for reading these class reunion tips. If you'd like I'll continue to send you some more email tips, but please unsubscribe below if you do not want to receive them.

Reunion planning site for Decorations.

Keep in mind that Edgewater will provide many of the decorations for FREE.

Bonus Class Reunion Tip: You may choose to have tabled and room decorations to
liven up proceedings at the reunion.

It's entirely up to you to decide whether or not decorations should be put up at
your reunion event. If you have the manpower, time and inclination, decorations
can be of great help in making a success of your reunion.

You could either put up photographs of your school days at pivotal points in the
room, or group them together on a gallery display. Make provision for invitees
to
put up their own. For this, it's best to mention at the time of announcing the
details of your reunion, that they should bring their school photographs for the
display. Similarly you could have a display of objects associated with your
school years. Invitees could add to the collection on the spot. The items, which
are no longer around today, will naturally get the most attention.

You could also go in for more elaborate decorations like putting up a display
based on the theme of the song Stairway to Heaven. For this you could get a set
of stairs on hire, cover it with a white sheet and scatter snow batting or
clouds
at the bottom of the stairs. Then put up a board with the theme written on it.

If you can get the same kind of decorations that were used on the night of your
senior prom, it would be perfect. Depending on how elaborate or basic your
decorations may be, set sufficient preparation time before the event.

Last but not least, let your imagination loose and creative juices flowing. Take
suggestions from other committee members as to the options for decorations and
the means of acquiring them.

I may have tickets left over from teaching school. I will have to check. Also, I spoke to my husband and I think I can get the company to donate a prize, like a gift card to Target or maybe an American Express gift card. I may be able to get $100, but if not, then $50. If I get $100, can that qualify as a grand prize(if we don't get anything else)? Also, I know Dan mentioned doing funny awards, like the one with the most kids, or the one who has lost the most hair. Are we still going to do that? We can just make little awards for that, nothing big. That's all for now!

Sooooo we need someone that can put together the programs to give out to everyone for the advertising part/recognition. Nothing fancy. Just something that you can literally print off of the computer, fold in half and give out.

WHAT DO YOU THINK? Donna, Kim? Let me know. I know it may be easier for Donna to handle it but I am not sure how big the task would be. Thx.

Hey everyone. I have contacted everyone on the classmates.com list. I have done it twice, with a good number of people not responding to both. I know there are a few people on reunion.com that aren't on classmates. Does anyone want to volunteer to join reunion. com and contact those people? I don't know how much it is. I think I pay 15 for 3 months on classmates. Also, in response to Mel's concern on Boatyard, what about Hooks? I don't know many other places since I have been out of PC for so long. It is informal, so if people get there and don't want to stay because of the prices, then that is fine. We will see them the next night. It's only us lushes that are going to run up a pretty steep bar tab. hehehehehe. Also, whenever anyone posts, I think you should post a new message always. When you post a response, it goes to that particular message you are responding to. I don't know if everyone knows to go back through the message to check for responses. Just will aleviate any miscommunication. Kristi

My mom told me that Bay High has put out a "public service announcement." You just have to fill out a form of what you want the announcement to say. It is free. I'm sure she'll do it if you want.

That would be awesome if your Mom would do that! Any way to pass the word on is helpful.

Hello all! Hope you're having a beautiful Saturday!

When will we be putting an ad in the News Herald? Page said she thought they did it very cheaply for reunions. Also, there is a bulletin channel that rolls local info that we need to see about getting on. Is anyone working on these things already? Or if anyone has connections at Beach TV- maybe they'd throw the word out there too. If not, let me know and I will try to get some info.
Thanks - Kim

Hey guys. Have we gotten a set date for Edgewater yet? If we can't have one by next week, then my vote is Boardwalk, definitely. Next week is the last week of Feb, and we need to start thinking of invitations. Katie, can you find something out when you get back in town? I think you are working on that, but if not, Tracy? I'm thinking the beginnig of August is going to be better for those with children. School generally starts mid August. So far, either Boardwalk or Edgewater is winning. Boardwalk alone has 5 votes and Edgewater alone has 3. That's 15 votes. I know some people haven't voted. Should we give them a deadline? Talk to ya'll later! KRisti

I teach school and I can tell you that in GA we are already working on Aug 6th. That is before the kids come, but they start Aug 10th. I agree, the earlier the better. Also, I agree that we need to pick a date and time ASAP. Maybe the deadline should be next Tuesday, which gives everyone a week?!

Melissa- do you have to work the weekend of August 6th?

Edgewater DATES-
As for the dates for Edgewater. It would be either August 6th or August 13th.

After looking at pricing...Boardwalk has a few extra charges. like $35 setup for each bar, room rental...all of these charges have been waived for us at Edgewater...thanks to Katie :-) (Also, Edgewater will supply decorations, one last thing we have to spend money on...

I have no input on invites.

How is the overall class list coming along? I talked to someone who recommended using whitepages.com and online people finders to help locate. I don't have a yearbook but if we had a list of names in an excel sheet that we needed contact info for we could split them up and see what we come up with. Just an idea.

Graham - How is the sexist car wash fundraiser idea coming along? (haha)

Dan, I tried whitepages in the past and it's hard because I never know where these people live. Unless, I started calling every Dan Mallory(per se) that is there. I have cross referenced reunion.com with classmates and there are a few people on there that aren't on classmates. We need someone to join reunion and contact those people. I am a member of classmates and have contacted those people. I know the people finder you have to pay for.

Hey everyone! Who is going to be in charge of invitations once we have decided on location? Loren, my husband for those of you who don't know, has a friend in the printing/graphic design business. He has done invitations and announcements for me in the past and they have been very nice and extremely affordable. He'll do them any way we want them. I have always had mine on cardstock. The last time I did them I believe he charged $45 for 125. His girlfriend is an artist and even did her own artwork on the invite. Tracy and Shelly, if you recall, these were my sister's baby shower invitations with the pastel beach scene with baby stuff accenting it. They were awesome. I'm sure he could work something up for us. He is also very prompt. Let me know what everyone thinks.

Hi everyone!

Obviously if you're reading this you now know that we have a message board on which we can communicate about our upcoming reunion.

Remember, this is for our convenience, so our inboxes are not full of a million replies! Because these messages won't be sent to us by email, it will be our responsibility to check this forum regularly to stay updated and give our input, ideas, and opinions for the reunion.

This is my first time creating anything like this, so if you notice any problems, just let me know.

Katie is donating stamps and Shelly is sending dolphin stickers as the envelope seals.

Would anyone like to volunteer to Stuff/Address/Mail our invites.

Thanks-
