It seems to me that so many people are hurting and suffering extreme self pity and negativity right now. I am sure most of these hurts are genuine but unless everyone starts to think and act a little more positively all that will happen is heads will go further and further down. When you think so negatively and assume nothing is ever going to be right, that is exactly what happens because you almost “will” it on yourself and make it so.

I don’t mean to offend by my comments and maybe it’s not my place to say this, but at the moment when I read some of the posts in the lovely Garden, I feel like slashing my wrists and that would never do at all.

A very good point Dragonlady. It is very easy to get into a downward spiral, seeing almost everything as negative. Pretty soon if that is allowed to become a habit the individual expects to have negative things happen in their life, and hey guess what?....negative things always seem to happen to them.

It can be hard to see any good when something goes wrong or you appear to be suffering. Given time however it is often found that good has come about from a bad or unpleasent situation.

As I commented not long ago here in the Garden....life is what you make of it. See it as horrible and it will be so.
To quote Richard Bach, the author of Jonathan Livingston Seagull and Illusions..."Argue for your limitaions, and sure enough, they're yours"

Right you are. Need to have some uplifting thoughts. Begin manifesting positive instead of negative.

i canot believe that me being real and human with how i feel has made people want to slash their wrists here.

on the advice of a friend who lurks here but does not post and someone who also posts here i went to the GP yesterday. i have been given anti depressants and referrred to a community psychiatric nurse. unfortunately positive thinking is not enough for everyone.

i will not be staying here anymore as i have brought people down with my negativity incidently i can't snap my fingers and think myself out of that. i will carry on researching paganism to help me cope with my feeligns of loneliness and depression but in terms of emotional support am going to find that through a counselling group and at a private yahoo group i have found online.

best wishes to all.

"i canot believe that me being real and human with how i feel has made people want to slash their wrists here."

See now there you go again Sweetsong assuming it is all your fault. I was not being serious when I wrote that "slashing wrists" - after what I have been through in the last year (including major open heart surgery) I am hardly likely to be doing anything silly like that.

I hope this will be of help to you sweetsong. I don't think you need to leave the site though but of course that is your choice. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.

sweetsong.... i don't mean to sound brutal, but once in a while try thinking about those who are worse off than yourself.... i am on anti depressants.. and i am not ashamed to say so... 3 years ago i had major surgery to remove a tumor in my cervix and womb.... i got through that... (i was 26 and to be told at that time of your life you can never carry a child is heartbreaking believe me!!).... this year , within 8 weeks i lost both of my wonderful grandparents, i had an absolute breakdown ... that's when the gp put me on anti depressents, i was offered councelling too, and the gp still likes to see me monthly to see if i am ok... the wonderful people in the Garden pulled me through what i considered to be the utter most worse time in my life, and i am grateful for that!! so very grateful i light a candle for all every day/night of the week by my grandparents picture, Sweetsong, i believe you to be very over sensitive to words (which in essence are just words) if you feel you must go then i wish you all the best of luck, but also if you carry on thinking of yourself the way you do at the moment, you will end up outing yourself from every forum you choose to out yourself from.... another forum isn't going to change the way you think about yourself.... you are the only person who can do that, when i return from work tonight i will light a candle for you, i will send you ripples of strength to reach inside yourself and stand up for yourself instead of running away, please don't leave us, the garden can be a very positive place to be,, but (IMO) everywhere you go be it real or cyber is what YOU make of it. no one else can change the way you see yourself!!
It's my 30th birthday today, i am having my 1st b.day away from my nan and grandad, but i know they would be proud of me, i miss them like crazy, but at the end of the day they are not coming back (in the physical form anyways) and i accept that.... i'm 30 (oh no!!) but even tho i may not be the most confident person, i value me, i am grateful for my health and for being here today!!
sorry to go on but i have been negative and not once in the garden have i been made to feel i should leave, maybe you should re-read some of the thread replies before you fire answers back... oh i am sorry, but feeling positive today and i like to learn to appreciate myself for who i am coz i am an individual and i'm not gonna change... i had to get used to that (as many people do) so you should try it too.
take care of yourself hunny please love and huggles

I suppose it might suit some people but then of course you have the fun and games of going cold turkey coming off those sorts of things.

Lol I am a nightmare where tablets and things are concerned. From never taking anything other than a para occasionally for a migraine I had to take far too many bloody tablets after my heart surgery and will be off almost everything soon. Everything that is except the dreaded rat poison (Warfarin) which I have to take forever to stop the blood clotting around my prosthetic heart valve. I am bionic now you see :-)

i do think about people worse off than myself. i have a disability and juvenile arthritis and know others with worse disabilities than mine but am painfully aware how in asian culture people with disablities are usually kept at home and not encouraged to have lives but i have fought this by getting own flat and job. i do belive in myself. but i can't get a man and i know a partner isn't everything but i would love someone to share my life with. i was hoping finding gaia i would stop needing something to fill my heart....but i am a long way off.

so this is what i mean about the net we can have no idea what is going on for each other. in a way it is great because it means nobody judges on appearances but also it is one dimensional. anyway i want to end this subject. it is too personal and i did not mean for people to start sharing personal private stuff.

Oh dear Sweetsong

Please try not to take things personally hun. None of us is perfect - we all make mistakes and we all feel fragile from time to time.

You sound like an amazing person to me. It takes someone strong and brave to stand on their own 2 feet as you have. I cant believe that you are not full of pride for yourself - its not every young woman who can say they have their own pad and support themselves, regardless of race or disability. You go girl and keep on going. Too many people feel they MUST have someone in their lives to make them successful and worthy. Whilst it is nice to have companionship, we dont actually NEED it to survive - you are a shining example of this.

Go with the flow hun - there are always going to be comments and remarks made that hurt you - thats the way the world is, unfortunately. But rise above them - dont feel the need to analyse everything. It doesnt matter. What does matter is the person YOU are and if you ask me, your a good un.

Keep coming to the Garden - we are all learning in our own way. This Garden is filled with love and I dont believe for one minute that anyone here has meant to hurt you with their words. They are merely offering their support which YOU may choose to take or not. You call the shots huney, no one else.

Be the bright, happy, bubbly girl I know is in there waiting to jump out. You are alive, you are beautiful. live life to the hilt.

Blessings Lil

thank you guys. the only thing is i work for a disability charity where everyone is accepting of diversity so the next step is to get into a world where disability awareness is less and facing the prejudice is going to be hard. one day i'll get a man but am not settling for the ones my parents keep showing me. they may be finanically secure but they are quite old :( i cannot have babies so i am likely to be shown older ones.
