Author: ok, I must go now. Girls are practicing; we are pretending to OT be here watching them. Indeed we are NOT watching them. They are to my right. I am facing left. [ Edit | View ]

I relized that I had left my white sandals home by accident. Earlier in the day, when Schneiders said they were at Target, I asked if they would please be kind enough to buy me a pair of brown sandals. Of course they did NOT. Well, I was NOT going toi turn around to get my white sandals but now I was down to a pair of sneakers, which I am told are not acceptable in Manchester for British Nationals, and my blue sandals. I can't very well ber expected to wear blue sandals all the time and certainly not with my tan, beige, brown outfits. This trying to dress appropriately is a pain in the buttocks if you ask me. No one asked me; they just HINTED that I might want to purchase some new clothes before I left. So, since the very day we arrived we have been in more shoe stores than I have been in in the last 5 years total. The exciting thing is seeing shoes for 15, 20 or even 30! Of course, the excitement fades once you do the conversion to US Dollars. I digress. The is a beautiful mall here which will be vieweable on the pics page Day Three. Of course we ended up in about 6 shoe stores. I tired on, quickly, about 4 pair of sort of brown sandal/shoes which had been given the nod of acceptability by Kelsey and the Schneider Ladies. I bought a pair. Britt bought red shoes. Lovely red shoes I might add. Kelsey tried on about 8 - 9 paitrs but got nothing. Have any of you shoe shopped with Kelsey? I can tell you that it is NOT something Schneider's will do again in the near future. Kelseys feet are two distinctly different sizes. .......as I said there are MANY shoe stores here. We finally found a yellow pair of flats that fit - then Donna pointed out that they shoes were different shades of yellow. Now that it had been pointed out tous, we all agreed that indeed they were different. Let's begin again. Before the sun set we did get yellow shoes and black shoes. Some things one cannot go without and so next it was Miriam's turn to splurge. With starch in hand, she was a happy woman. See pics as proof!!.
