"Take a load off, kiddo." He was dark featured, of mixed and muted Italian descent, and had stripped down to a ragged wifebeater and ragged jeans on account of the heat in the apartment.

  • The house was large but it had no air-con- and so in the summer it would be unbareably hot while in the winter it would be frozen- as the heating seemed to be on the blink. She glanced over her shoulder to him, arching a brow and setting the roller down, taking the pepsi from him and cracking it open "Thanks" She turned back to survay her handi work, dropping down onto a wooden crate they'd pilfered from somewhere.
