Tras acogerse a la Ley de Quiebras, Magali Febles ha decidido retornar a sus inicios: el negocio de la belleza y la cosmetología. Esto, asegura, incluiría armar su propia línea para el cabello, preparar un libro de maquillaje y darle forma a un proyecto televisivo tipo Fashion Police.

Pero eso no es todo. Según aseguró a Primera Hora, le han surgido otros proyectos luego de perder la franquicia de Miss Puerto Rico Universe.

Entre éstos, según afirmó, figura la oportunidad de fungir como gerente general de los jugos de fruta Goyi en República Dominicana.

“Osmel Sousa, el director de la franquicia de Venezuela, me hizo un acercamiento para que lo ayudara en un proyecto similar al que hice con el certamen de las gorditas. También he recibido acercamientos para manejar artistas, producir espectáculos y tener mi propio programa de televisión”, anticipó.


De espalda a sus líos de certámenes

Sobre la deuda que se comenta que tiene tanto con la participante Nancy Quiñones del certamen Miss & Mrs. Beauty and Fitness como con la organización de Miss Universo, sostuvo que “mi relación con la organización de Miss Universe es excelente. Nunca hubo deudas, eso no es verdad. Se trata de una treta de alguien que quiso hacer daño. En el certamen Miss & Mrs. Beauty and Fitness, lo que ocurre es que en ese certamen yo no les cobré franquicia ni participación a las candidatas. Lo que se les dio fueron unos boletos de 5.00 dólares y 10.00 dólares para que vendieran porque de alguna manera había que cubrir gastos operacionales. Pero todos los premios se dieron, lo que faltaba era la evaluación con el cirujano”, insistió.



Según anotó la estilista, desde que ésta perdió la franquicia de Puerto Rico, se ha dedicado tiempo a sí misma. Su transformación física, según precisó, es prueba de ello.

“Pero hay algo más importante. He estado trabajando con mi parte espiritual. Yo no quiero que nadie perturbe mi paz ni mi tranquilidad. Yo converso mucho con Dios. Tengo mi estilo de vida, voy a la iglesia porque me gusta y me fortalece”, subrayó.

Agregó que no ve nada de malo con que ésta asista a la iglesia y luzca un bikini o una minifalda cuando está hacien- do otras cosas.

“Claro que puedo hacerlo. Puedo ir a fiestas... La Biblia no dice que uno no puede lucir trajes de baño. De nada sirve que alguien vaya a la iglesia y ande tapado hasta al cuello y haga cosas malas”, dijo.


Confía en que Desirée hará un buen trabajo

Al preguntársele cómo evaluaba el desempeño de Luis Vigoreaux, hijo, y Desirée Lowry ahora con la franquicia de Miss Puerto Rico sólo se limitó a comentar que “éste quizá no es el momento de evaluar nada”.

“Falta tiempo porque este año no fue un parámetro para una saber la labor que ellos van a realizar. Tienen que seguir desarrollándose y demostrar su capacidad. Desirée viene de mi escuela. Yo confío en que ella haga un buen trabajo por Puerto Rico”, expresó.

Febles admitió que siempre que surge alguna información que la involucra, se desarrolla alguna discusión o debate.

“Sí, es así, pero siempre son las mismas personas que están detrás del juego. Lindo es cuando, por ejemplo, me voy a pasear por la isla y se me acerca la gente con mucho cariño”, mencionó declinando identificar el grupo de personas que, según asegura, son las responsables de que ésta figure con frecuencia “en el medio de la tormenta”.

Aseguró de paso que sufrió de una “fuerte depresión” cuando perdió la franquicia de Miss Puerto Rico, pero que la superó.

“Fui atendida por un doctor muy capacitado que estuvo trabajando conmigo y me tuvo en un tratamiento por mucho tiempo”, precisó.


La impactó perder la franquicia

Febles, de otra parte, estableció que se encuentra en el proceso de reorganizarse tras afrontar una crisis económica.

“En Puerto Rico estamos atravesando una de las peores crisis económicas que hemos tenido jamás y yo no diría en Puerto Rico, sino que es algo mundial. En mi caso yo perdí el concurso y había vendido mi negocio. Yo no estaba preparada para perder la franquicia y a raíz de eso comencé a tener muchos problemas económicos. De hecho, ya venía con algunos de esos problemas y tuve que irme a la quiebra, hacer una reorganización, porque eso es un derecho el cual asiste a cualquier persona que ha tenido una gran empresa y de momento tenga que reestructurarse”, señaló.

Febles, según aseguró, se adentraría nuevamente en el mundo de los certámenes de belleza, si se le presentara una oportunidad; aun cuando ha estado involucrada en varios debates y controversias dentro de ese ambiente.

En la actualidad, la estilista va al aire a través de la radioemisora La X los lunes y viernes y a través de un segmento titulado Cómo te ves que tiene en el programa televisivo nocturno Qué noche por el Canal 6 los martes.

“Amo lo que estoy haciendo en radio y televisión y espero poder tener mi programa en televisión pronto”, concluyó.

Luego de lucirse como el diseñador oficial de los certámenes de belleza Miss Universo 2009 y Miss USA 2009, Carlos Alberto se prepara para volver a brillar en el mundo de la moda, y nuevamente lo hará de la mano del famoso magnate Donald Trump.

El diseñador puertorriqueño tendrá una espectacular presentación de su nueva colección el próximo 11 de diciembre en el lujoso resort Mar-a-Lago en Palm Beach, Florida. Se trata de la histórica mansión propiedad de Donald Trump, el mismo lugar que él escogió para realizar su boda con la modelo Melania Knauss.

“En Mar-a-Lago hacen un evento de Navidad todos los años al que invitan a dos o tres diseñadores para que presenten sus colecciones. Pero en esta ocasión, al ver el trabajo que hice en los concursos, me pidieron que el desfile sea únicamente de Carlos Alberto. Así que les voy a presentar dos temporadas: otoño-invierno y primavera-verano. Van a ser 50 salidas con un total de 90 piezas”, adelantó el diseñador.

Carlos Alberto contará con la colaboración de las modelos, estilistas y maquillistas que trabajan en el Miami Fashion Week, los cuales fueron puestos a su disposición por los organizadores del evento, así como la joyería genuina que complementará sus creaciones. Pero el diseñador se encargó de que por la distinguida pasarela también desfilen dos modelos boricuas, su musa Gabriela Berríos y la ex Miss Puerto Rico Cynthia Olavarría.

Ésta es una oportunidad que Carlos Alberto reconoce que llevará su carrera a otro nivel, sin embargo, él prefiere no pensar en la magnitud de la propuesta.

“Prefiero enfocarme en que las cosas queden bien. Me afano en el trabajo y no en todo lo que está pasando a mi alrededor. Eso me ayuda a mantenerme con los pies en la tierra. Sé y agradezco el que Dios me bendice de muchas formas, pero trato de seguir trabajando cada día mejor”, expresó el diseñador, quien además de su talento se destaca por su sencilla personalidad.

Como era de esperarse, Donald Trump ya confirmó su asistencia al desfile, al que también están invitadas varias estrellas de Hollywood y la prensa especializada, que ya ha solicitado entrevistar al modisto boricua una vez concluya su presentación.

“Sé que el señor Trump tuvo mucho que ver en que se me diera esta oportunidad. Cuando estuve en Miss Universo en las Bahamas, él se paró a hablar conmigo y me dijo que le gustaba mi trabajo”, recordó Carlos Alberto, quien al mismo tiempo que prepara su nueva colección continúa atendiendo a su clientela, entre las que se encuentran varias candidatas a Miss Universe Puerto Rico.

Santa Cruz - Bolivia.- La organización del Miss Bolivia Promociones Gloria ha solicitado a los ejecutivos del Miss Univierso, que el país sea la sede del concurso hace cuatro años, y no ha dejado de insistir en ello, confirmó la presidenta Gloria Suárez de Limpias a Fiesta.

Organizar el Miss Universo sería un logro para Promociones Gloria, ya que es algo que está entre sus objetivos, además cuenta con la confianza de los organizadores desde hace más de 30 años, formando reinas de belleza bajo la disciplina internacional que se requiere para destacarse entre las más bellas del planeta.

El Miss Universo es de propiedad del magnate de negocios estadounidense Donald Trump, que presumiblemente, exige un monto aproximado a los nueve millones de dólares al país anfitrión para ser sede del certamen, además que debe contar con la infraestructura y seguridad necesaria.

Esta inversión debe ser tomada como política nacional de turismo como lo hacen otros pa

iacute;ses, ya que se retribuye al país con la difusión de la belleza cultural y natural a millones de televidentes de todo el mundo, que ven el certamen y se animan a visitar el país.

Este deseo tambien lo expresó el presidente de la República Evo Morales en una visita a la ciudad, dijo que sería ideal celebrar el concurso en Santa Cruz, en honor a la belleza de la mujer cruceña y el Bicentenario de independencia de Santa Cruz el 2010. Por su parte, Miss Bolivia Universo 2009, Claudia Arce, retornó de Estados Unidos y se prepara para competir el próximo mayo en el concurso de belleza, el cual no tiene sede, se habla de Panamá o tal vez de Bolivia.

Miss Earth contestants from 26 countries, who arrived in Negros Occidental yesterday, called for a united effort to save the world from the ravages of global warming by going green.

The 26 of the about 80 Miss Earth beauties were in the province for their pre-talent competition at L'Fisher Hotel in Bacolod City last night.

Two other batches of contestants were in Palawan and Metro Manila for their pre-talent competitions, with the final pageant night set in Boracay on Nov. 22.

Gov. Isidro Zayco, who hosted lunch for the 26 contestants at Planta Centro Bacolod Hotel, said he was glad they chose Negros Occidental as one of the venues for the pre-talent competition, so that its tourism attractions can also be promoted.

The contestants are set to visit Mambukal Resort in Murcia , The Ruins in Talisay City and the historical sites in Silay City today, said Adie Adelantar, Miss Philippines Eco-Tourism 2008, who is from Victorias City .

At a press presentation yesterday noon at the Planta Centro Bacolod Hotel, the girls batted for the preservation of the environment.

Miss Tanzania Evelyne Amasi said “When we understand the freshness of the air that we breath…and the purity of the water we consume, then automatically we understand life.”

“When this happens we understand the need to preserve the environment, we all should not wait for tomorrow, we should do it now,” she said.

Miss Brazil Larissa Ramos, who is studying biology in Universidade Federal do Amazonas, stressed the need to work against contamination of the environment, while Miss Chinese Taipei Yi-Wen Chen said the world needs more green campaigns.

Miss France Magalie Thierry, who has a masters degree in biology, said she wants to promote the protection of the ocean's biodiversity, while Miss Greece Triantafyllia Sarantinou stressed the need to tap the sun and wind as sources of clean energy.

“God has blessed us with only one Earth; if we don't take action now we will destroy it forever,” Miss Guam Maria Luisa Santos said.

Miss Honduras Alejandra Mendoza called on everyone to take care of the environment by keeping it green and clean.

Miss Kosovo Elza Marku called for unity in saving mother earth, while Miss Macau Jia Pei said the environment must be protected for a better future.

Safer alternative energy was pushed by Miss Malta Alison Galea Valletta.

Calls to save the environment should be heard at the world summit on the environment in Copenhagen in December, Miss Nepal Richa Thapa Magar said.

Miss Nigeria Modesta Alozie said, “we are all here to save Mother Earth together, I can't do it alone and you can't do it alone.”

Miss Northern Ireland Kayleigh O'Reilly said “we should start making changes within ourselves and unite to protect Mother Earth.”

“We must preserve the balance of nature to prevent calamities,” Miss Paraguay Gabriela Rejala said.

Miss Peru Leticia Rivera Vergara said the first solution to environmental problems is education, we all need to be examples for the world.

“We must go green for future generations,” said Miss Puerto Rico Dignelis Taymi Jimenez, who is a lawyer.

Miss Samoa Varuna Curry said climate change is causing sea levels to rise and if this goes on, there won't be any small islands left to live in.

Miss Scotland Sarah Finlay stressed the importance of protecting biodiversity and going green, while Miss Singapore Valerie Lim said it is important to protect the environment for the future.

“We have to all together help Mother Earth so let's do it,” Miss Slovenia Maja Jamnik said.

Mother Earth is innocent and pure and must be well protected, Miss Switzerland Graziella Rogers said.

Miss Thailand Rujinan Phanseethum said protecting the environment is protecting oneself.

Also in Negros were Miss Tahiti Niuriki Teremate, Miss El Salvador Mayra Aldana, Miss Mexico Natalia Quiñones Perez and Miss Guatemala Hamy Nataly Tejeda Funes, who was celebrating her birthday yesterday.*CPG

Last year Miss Universe Cabo Rojo - Mayra Matos & Miss Universe San Juan - Jennifer Colón won the Miss Critical Beauty - Universe Puerto Rico 2009 title, but this year is only one winner and she is Miss Universe Río Grande - Mariana Vicente. Mariana you are the personification of beauty, grace and professionalism. Your achievements and attitude have proven your determination and ability to transcend many barriers. I have no doubt that you have a bright future and you will get whatever you want out of life.

Who is Mariana Vicente?


Mariana Vicente was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She comes from a family where the arts and entertainment are prominent, exposing her to dance, arts, painting, and modeling world from a young age.

Mariana took ballet and dance lessons from the time she was four years old up to fourteen at Vanessa Padilla Dance School in Puerto Rico. She also took art lessons with the late international painter Andrés Bueso from the time she was seven until she was fourteen years old. By the age of nine, she had already established a collection of her artwork giving her the opportunity to exhibit her work in international expositions.

As Mariana reached her teenage years, she was already doing TV commercials as well as runway modeling in Puerto Rico. In 2000 she was chosen the most beautiful face of L’oreal and Imagen Magazine contest in Puerto Rico. All this opened doors to her to compete in other modeling contests and expose her image to other agencies.

Since she was fifteen, Mariana has been training her vocal cords to prepare herself for a singing career.

Mariana Vicente is a beautiful young woman not only externally but internally as well. She leaves a positive impression to those who know her, and those who have had the opportunity to work with her are impressed with her uncanny professionalism and dedication to her work.

We also extend our sincerest congratulations to the 40 contestants who participate in this once in a lifetime opportunity. We hope that each young lady leaves this experience with unforgettable memories, strong friendships and a great sense of accomplishment. Only one woman will take home the coveted Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2010 title and crown. The new titleholder will have an incredible year ahead. Two Miss Universe 2008 contestants were being talked about over a scandalous video that hit online last weekend.

The said video tape features one guy and two girls doing explicit acts together.

According to those who have seen the video, the girls look like two Miss Universe 2008 candidates.

Miss Trinidad & Tobago Universe 2008 Anya Ayoung-Chee and Miss Japan Universe 2008 Hiroko Mima are the ones being referred to by the reports.

I have already heard of this news two days ago that a beauty queen from Trinidad & Tobago has a video scandal online, but I did not take it too seriously until I've learned a recent news that another beauty queen also stars with Miss T&T in the said video.

That's more shocking, especially that the guy in the video is believed to be Wyatt Gallery (pictured below), a photographer and boyfriend of Miss T&T, who according to isyuseros around the world did modeling portfolios for the two beauty queens.

Both Miss T&T and Miss Japan competed in the Miss Universe 2008 pageant in Vietnam and maybe that's where they got close with each other.

Miss Japan was among the Top 15 semi-finalists while Miss T&T failed to make the cut.

The sex video is scattered all over the net and it's clear that the two girls in question are aware that their "deeds" were being filmed.

According to some reports, there are allegedly more than five existing scandalous videos of Miss T&T and her boyfriend, with Miss Japan appearing only in one video.

In fact, one popular video site has already uploaded three of those videos.

The eventual winner MARJORIE WALLACE of the USA was dethroned and did not finished her reign. The 1st Runner-Up that year was Miss Philippines EVANGELINE PASCUAL turned down and did not accepted the Miss World crown from the Morleys due to her rising show business career in the Philippines. The 2nd Runner-up was Miss Jamaica.
