Date Posted: 08/20/07 9:02:04pm It is with regret that we must notify you of the following directive from the Miss Universe Organization: Effective immediately, the Miss Universe Organization has directed us to dismantle the system of local pageants and directors in Texas. Due to the uncertain future of the Miss Teen USA Pageant, at this time we consider it likely that we will not be holding a Miss Texas Teen USA 2009 Pageant (in November 2008). Therefore, there can be no local "Teen" preliminary competitions for the 2009 pageant year.> We are in the process of talking with the Miss Universe Organization to obtain approval for a one-year extension of the "Miss" preliminary competitions for the Miss Texas USA 2009 Pageant to be held in June 2008. It must be understood that if approved, you would be able to proceed, if you so choose, with your local pageant in 2008, but it could not be a double Miss/Teen pageant. It would be only for "Miss" contestants. We hope to have this issue resolved in a timely manner and will keep you updated. We will give you further communication in this regard upon our return from the 2007 Miss Teen USA pageant. Please understand that this in no way affects or diminishes your current contract in regard to your reigning titleholders and your obligations to them during their pageant year. We look forward to seeing you at the Miss Texas Teen USA pageant and meeting with you at that time.> Be assured that we have always dealt with you in good faith and are giving you notice immediately after receiving it ourselves. The changes and uncertainty are as difficult for us as they are for you. We have been doing business with you and called you our friends for many years. It is our hope that those of you who have pageants "in your blood" will stay in touch and hopefully continue to work with us in other capacities. The pageant will be held July 29th, and you can do so much with this amazing title. Date Posted: 07/20/07 7:41:09am As many of you know, there was a four-way tie for the 15th place spot this year. Unfortunately because of time constraints for the television production, only 16 could be squeezed in. This of course knocked out two very deserving young women. Another unfortunate event is that Rula has aged out and will not be able to compete next year. Emeraude will be back next year and I can confindently say she will be there with a purpose. My time allows me to work with only a couple of young women each year. This year by far has been the most rewarding to me. The two women I have had the priviledge to mentor (I hate using the word "coach")have been Cassidy and Emeraude. Both have made tremendous strides and quite honestly have made me very very proud. For those of you who take pageantry seriously and have developed that bond of friendship and admiration, I encourage you to send Emeraude your congratulations. This accomplishment is achieved by so few in the Valley and we should all be proud of her and share in her joy. Just because she wasn't acknowledged on the television broadcast doesn't mean she shouldn't be acknowledged here with us. Congrats Em! We love you dearly! |

Date Posted: 07/ 2/07 10:49:09am again! Ooh, I want someone up there in that line-up to represent us!! First of all, I think all of our girls did a fantastic job and should be congratulated. You did great! Congratulations also, of course, to our new Miss Texas USA - Crystle Stewart!! So now that we have a strong contender for the Miss USA title, I wanted to ask publicly: Although we disagree slightly with the judges, our girls just don't seem to be making the cut recently...so, who would YOU like to see at Miss Texas USA next year that didn't compete this past week? Who would YOU like to see compete at RGV USA to get the title and advance ticket to Texas? I'd love as many opinions as possible! Thanks! |
