Subject: Amen! I know better after a few pageants but its funny to see how the directors do this. I got a Go Fund Me message earlier this week from someone wanting to compete at a Mrs America prelim. Why on earth would you ask another contestant to sponsor you?? Your kid I get, children can't raise their own entry fees. Some pageants are for charity. But one Mrs contestant to another? How do you even DO that? Author: I was so shocked didn't know how to react to the request. what do you say? I didn't dare ask any friends/family to help me pay for pageants even when I first started at 19 years old. I thought it was silly then and think it's silly now. If I needed extra money I actually went to businesses, to get sponsorship.
