In an effort to make the America’s Outstanding Mom Pageant more accessible to ALL of the United States, we have decided to move its JULY, 2014 Pageant to BRANSON, MISSOURI, virtually in the Heart of America.
Known as the “Live Music Show Capital of the World,” Branson, MO, is truly a one-of-a-kind family vacation destination — and an incredible value — with more than 50 live performance theaters, three pristine lakes, 12 championship golf courses, an international award-winning theme park, dozens of attractions and museums, an Historic Downtown district, shopping galore, a full range of dining options, and a host of hotels, motels, resorts, RV parks, campgrounds and meeting and conference facilities.
And in response to an overwhelming call for the fitness aspect of competition, AOMom is incorporating a SWIMSUIT COMPETITION that will be worth 20% of the total score. Swimsuits can be one or two piece, any color or style choice and can be “glitzed and/or glammed-up," as well as traditionally elegant. Swimsuits will be worn with a coordinating wrap of the Delegate’s choice, and can be modeled as she feels comfortable.
America’s Outstanding Mom still believes in recognizing and celebrating all of the Outstanding Moms in America, regardless of how they were blessed with children. What is most important, and always will be, is the beauty of the bond between mother and child.
Our website is still under construction but all of the important information is there - www.americasoutstandingmom.com.

- Curious only. Why would women clamor for swimsuit? Will you not lose contesants because of this? I was surprised at the change, but god bless. -- wondered how you reached that conclusion, 08/31/13 Sat
- I would have signed up TODAY to compete in the pageant had you not added swimsuit. Just yuck! -- Mom, 08/31/13 Sat
- That's a bummer -- ., 08/31/13 Sat
- most moms don't have time to get in swimsuit shape, sure, some do, some are high maintenance, but most women at this stage don't want the stress of worrying about how their legs will show on stage. If it's about being the best mom in the country, why do you feel the need to show off the thighs? It seems like no matter what great ideas the pageant has when it starts, and what it wants to highlight, it turns into a bathing suit competition, like Mrs United States. -- but if everyone wants this, I guess others need to forget it, 09/02/13 Mon
- Really? I think the ladies who are obsessed with fitness are trying to eliminate women who do not share their obsession. Moms in swimsuits? What message is it sending to our daughters? I am ready for a pageant that truly promotes beauty, elegance, accomplishments and healthy living that does not require "showing skin" to prove anything. The time is now for such a pageant, and I celebrate the pageant owners who are reaching out to real women! -- Let's go!, 09/02/13 Mon
- Ladies, hold on....a pageant for married with NO SWIMSUIT OR FITNESS is in the works. -- will be announced in July of 2014., 09/02/13 Mon
- That rules out this pageant for me. I was seriously thinking of competing but think it now sends the wrong message. One must be thin to be a good mom. -- NE Mom, 09/02/13 Mon
- I'm going to be the voice of dissent and say that I don't mind at all that there is a swimsuit competition. What message does it send our daughters? That you can be a great mom and still give a crap about YOURSELF. That making time to be in good shape is important and becoming a mom doesn't mean that suddenly you're unworthy of anything but yoga pants and baggy tshirts. -- Northwesterner, 09/02/13 Mon
- I'm laughing at the drama about Moms shouldn't be on stage in a swimsuit!! Are you kidding me?? Have you paid attention to the largest pageant systems for grown women? Mrs. United States, Mrs. America, Galaxy?? And how many of those "Mrs." do you think are also "Moms"? And whoever said this was the "mom of the year" award? It's a PAGEANT!! Fitness is part of the normal competition in most pageants. Does winning Mrs. United States mean that you've won the "Mrs. of the year award"? And to the person who said they'd be "ashamed" of their mother in a swimsuit on stage ... shame on you... (NT) -- All for swimsuits!, 09/03/13 Tue
- As a mother of two grown daughters a wife of 20+ years and a fitness professional, it's just humiliating to be on stage in a bathing suit of any kind. It's bad enough that everyday people think pageants are a joke, try telling them your 48 & regardless of the fact you've got a great bod, you're prancing around on stage in a swimsuit & they automatically think you're either desperate for attention or completely nuts. Sorry, I take my fashion ques from women who are fabulous and modest. I'm in great shape, proud of it, but do I want to be 1/2 naked in stripper heels on stage - no way... (NT) -- I'll take fitness wear or heck, give me fabulous red carpet wear anyday..., 09/04/13 Wed
- Well, there are many pageants, and there is one for everyone, so you don't have to compete in a pageant with a swimsuit requirement, but then again, you probably won't be competing in Mrs. United States, Mrs. America, Globe, Galaxy, etc. either, and that's perfectly fine, but its not nice to bash this system just because of that. There are many ladies who work hard on their bodies and want to show them off. I suppose you don't like body building competitions either. (NT) -- Outstanding Mom supporter, 09/04/13 Wed
- When this pageant started out two years ago, I was impressed with how the focus was on being a mother and community service. The fact that there was a haute fashion category was fun. It may be technically a "Beauty Pageant" but I think there are some moms who are short or stocky and still in good health but don't want to wear a swimsuit. I'm an older mom, in very good shape and I would enter this for the "mom" aspect and the fun the women seem to have at the pageant, but not the swimsuit part. I hope she reconsiders. -- BB, 09/04/13 Wed
- I can only imagine the reaction the public has of a grown woman wearing a crown and banner that says Americas Outstanding Mom. You ladies are priceless. Don't ever stop! -- LOL!, 09/05/13 Thu
- "America’s Outstanding Mom still believes in recognizing and celebrating all of the Outstanding Moms in America, regardless of how they were blessed with children. What is most important, and always will be, is the beauty of the bond between mother and child"...Beauty of the bond between mother and child, not Beauty of the BOD of the Mother...why??? -- Sad it changed! A program will take at least 5 years to build, 09/05/13 Thu
