I had my own KU nightmare last night. He turned into stretch armstrong and his shoulders kept getting broader and broader and broader.

I sighed softly. The medication had made me let my guard down. I snuggled closely and breathed in his body scent and laundry detergent smell. One hand still rested on his belly the other dangerously close to his upper thigh. I had missed laying there like this with him, those quiet moments before we went to sleep. There had been others after him and in between our spells of breakups, but none I enjoyed as much as him. His chin still rested on top of my head, his arms clasped over my shoulder. He kissed my head gently.
"Feeling any pain bibby?" He murmured against my hair.

"Feeling nnnnooo pain." I replied.

He rested his cheek against my temple as I dozed, kissing me again. I slouched down and rested my head on his chest as he reclined back to watch the movie. He stroked my hair
and giggled as I mumbled, "I'll try not to drool on you". I drifted off into another hazy sleep.

My odd dreams continued. This time SHE was there, so really it was a nightmare. Keith and her were dressed in white clothes, playing with a horribly ugly baby that I could only assume was hers. I watched silently from a distance, unable to speak or look away for what seemed like forever. Then the dream changed, and I was running through his house. It was dark, just before a storm. I was running from someone, not sure who, but I was very afraid. All of the doors were locked from the outside and I couldn't find a place to hide. Finally, I saw an open window and jumped. I awoke again with a start, throwing the covers off myself. Keith woke up from me lurching out of his arms. He rubbed his face and put a hand on my shoulder.
"What is it bibby?" He asked.

I tried to catch my breath, still not sure what I had been running from. "Nothing, a dream, I guess" I replied, settling back down. My face felt like I had a ton of weigh resting on it.
He gently touched my check, "your face is getting more swollen, do you want some ice?"

I accepted and he went to fetch an ice pack for me. I drew the covers around me and wondered about the dreams. 'No more pills', I thought.
Keith returned with the ice and put it gently on my face. "See, perfect fit." He said as he kissed my lips that peaked out just below the ice pack.

I was feeling awful brave, thinking he couldn't get mad at someone with an ice pack on her face.
"So Keith, tell me how things are going with her."

He had been getting himself back under the covers, he stopped mid stride. The blankets in one hand, one leg on the bed, the other still on the floor. He stared into my eyes as they darted from the top of the ice pack, 'maybe this wasn't the best time to bring this up' I thought.

His face softened into a smile and he got into bed. "So, you want to know about me and her?"

"Well, not her so much but how you are doing with her." I replied.

"You're a smart girl, would I be playing nursemaid and getting you into my bed if things were well?" He asked with a chesire cat grin.

"Well, I was drunk, sad and alone and then I managed to bash my face in at your house, that is why I'm here isn't it?" I asked.

"If I thought that little of you, I'd have left you outside that bar or dropped you at the ER with your bloody little face." He said bending his head down close to mine. He placed one hand on my shoulder, slipping his fingers to my collarbone.

I shifted back, uncomfortable with the attention. "So, you are saying things are not good between you and her?" I asked.

He withdrew his hand and settled back into the pillows, pulling the blankets up around him.

"This isn't Law and Order, you're not the DA, I'm not on trial, and I don't have to answer these questions." He replied sharply.

I smiled and rubbed his chest. "Aww baby, I missed your fits." I laughed at him from under my ice pack.

He tried to hide his smile. "You got a lot of nerve, I've told you that enought times. Here I am trying to take care of you and your banged up face, which was your fault by the way, and all you can do is launch accusations." He continued to try not to laugh.

I took my ice pack off, revealing my scary face. "I know you've been great, I'm sorry if that was too much. I just want to know why I'm here in the first place." I asked.

He took the ice pack from me and gently put it back across my nose. "Let's cover this back up, there." "You're here because we can't seem to stay away from each other. You and me just keep running into each other for some reason." He said looking into my eyes.

I smiled, "Yeah, some reason, to drive each other crazy perhaps?" I asked.

He laughed, "You sure are good at it and I do my best". He kissed my forehead and snuggled closer to me.

Our breath mingled with each others as we laid there in silence facing each one another, me with my ice pack and Keith looking intently at me. He outstretched one hand to my hip, sliding it under the tee shirt I had on. He ran his thumb along my hip bone, his eyes cast downwards at my breasts. His soft fingers reached back further to the small of my back and downward. I let out a soft moan and ran my hand down his chest. I stopped at the waist of his flannel pants and tugged at the drawstring. Once released I ran the back of my hand down lower, he twitched slightly under my touch. We exchanged knowing glances and he ran his free hand across my chin, one finger grazing my lips. He smiled and laughed, "I've never made love to a girl with an ice pack on her face."

I smiled back, "And you won't tonight." As I turned my back to him.

I had no idea that meant physically as well. As much as I like "angry Keith", I like "caring/sorry/OMG!what did I do?/rest here in my arms Keith" almost as much...Almost now, not quite...lol Wonder who will happen upon those britches of yours crumpled up on the closet floor? Please let it be the "tall woman"...C'mon now kennedy! Let at least a little sh** hit the fan! Me thinks that I might just like to see Keith squirm...

Thanks Bird. I wasn't sure I could write a believable caring/fussing/sympathetic Keith but I'm glad I pulled it off. You know I am so much better at writing angry characters, LOL! Glad you noticed the pants on the floor, it was a long time ago that we discussed that senario. We'll see how it turns out. I have to go home at some point and the tall one has to finish filming at some point. Stay tuned!!
