Dear KLUBbers...

I know most of us come from other KU boards and this is just a pleasant side trip. This may not be your KU "home board", but you stop by when you can. Plese know that I have appreciated everyone's participation, no matter how small. This is my first experience as a head moderator on a public board, and you all have been easy to work with. Thank you!

I originally set this place up for the kind of discussions that we can't have at other boards, for fanfic, and for general drooling. And for getting to know each other, too. Things have really settled down since June 25th, tho (is that crickets I hear? LOL). This place will never be the first place for KU news, but it's just not a high-traffic site. I'm not thinking of shutting down, just trying to collect opinions and thoughts from you all.

What more can I do to make this a favorite stop??

What kinds of things would you like to see here?

What kinds of posts make you want to participate?

More pictures or no pictures? (okay, that's an easy one! LOL)

Basically, what can I do to make this board a place where you'll keep coming back and participate more and more.

Hey y'all! November 7 is the big day! Here's some comment from Keith about the album, and the Atlanta show (from Kix Brooks' Amercian Country Countdown site):

Keith Urban�s New Album Inspired By Marriage To Nicole Kidman

Keith Urban's upcoming Love, Pain and the Whole Crazy Thing album is full of songs inspired by his marriage to Nicole Kidman. He tells us, - "It's the sound of my marriage...If it could sound like something, it would be this record, the spirit of this record. It's sort of the most balance I've ever had in my life, so it's made the music really, really enjoyable for me."

The new disc features his latest hit "Once in a Lifetime," along with a duet with Brooks & Dunn's Ronnie Dunn on "Raise The Barn," which speaks to survivors of Hurricane Katrina. Keith also takes on the Leo Sayer tune "I Can't Stop Lovin' You," best known to most listeners from Phil Collins' version of the song a few years back.

Last weekend, Keith debuted five of the songs for members of his fan club in Atlanta, and he said the experience was a little intimidating. Keith explains, - "It was really daunting...Usually when you go out and tour new songs, people have at least had the record for at least a couple of days...We did five new songs off the album. It was nerve wracking for me."

Keith will take the new album on the road next year, kicking his 2007 tour off in Austin, Texas, on Valentine's Day. Love, Pain and the Whole Crazy Thing lands in stores November 7th.

Also, you may have heard that Keith wrote OIAL after a night of dual soul-searching with Nicole after the Oscars. He's quoted as saying that it was one of those moments when they were wondering if they were doing the right thing, and came to the conclusion that they were. Keith wrote OIAL based on that experience/conversation.

BUT! Did you know there was even MORE to the story???

According to an interview in USA Today today with Jack Nicholson, we may have to credit HIM for inspiring OIAL! Read on...

If there's one habit he says he can't kick, it's women. Nicholson hasn't married since his divorce from Knight in 1968 and has kept paparazzi scrambling with a multitude of beauties, including Angelica Huston and Lara Flynn Boyle.
He says he's "playing the field a little now, though not nearly as much as people like to think."

In fact, "I do get rejected," he says with a grin. "I still owe Nicole Kidman an apology. I didn't know she was engaged � or that she was standing with her fianc�e."

He stands, stretches and puts out the last cigarette of the afternoon, chuckling at the memory of the ribald moment with Kidman and then-fianc�e Keith Urban backstage at last year's Oscars.

He refuses to divulge the comment, though he seems to relish the gasp it drew from Kidman.

"Let's just say I'm getting older," he says. "But I haven't lost my sense of whimsy."

Yes, ladies, it appears that horny ol' Jack propositioned the fair maiden in front of her betrothed!! No wonder the Happy Couple wasn't quite so happy that night! The best man won, however and we have a whole album of stellar KU tunes to look forward to because of it!

Just saw the gorgeous Hugh Jackman in 'The Boy From Oz' on Saturday and he was brilliant!!!
Our boy got an honorable mention too, Hugh (in Peter Allen character of course, was very camp, camp as a row of tents in fact!)spoke of a certain recent little wedding he went to and asked what the audience thought of Keith's hair(?) and that maybe he should grow his a little longer, needeless to say he thought Keith could leave his shoes under his bed anyday!

In case anyone hasn't heard yet, the first single off Keith's new album will be titled "Once In A Lifetime". Keith worked with John Shanks (SLY, Better Half), and they say this one is in the same, driving, rock-n-roll country style those two do so well.

Here's the promo ad from Capitol Nashville. I can only imagine how awesome the music will be based solely on this logo - WOW!!

For those of you who might be wondering, yes, Keith Urban did, in fact, have a concert recently in Paso Robles, CA.

He was nearly late for his own party and the only "tall one" by his side was Jerry Flowers, but for almost and hour and forty-five minutes, our man from Manly regaled the assembled crowd with a few of his lesser known hits. (Anybody ever heard of a song called "SLY?") LOL!

        "I don't know how long I'll be at the studio and you know how your director and producers worry when you go riding. Heaven forbid you get a scratch, bruise, or hurt your knees right before filming begins." She replied, "You KNOW how hard it is for them to get insurance on me because of my knees. Maybe they would worry less if I had my own chopper. Not that the book wasn't a nice wedding gift but I was really expecting my own custome chopper so I could ride beside you instead of behind you." I'm so thrilled and they appear to feel the same! It's hard to tell in this pic, but Keith is wearing a cutaway coat - i.e. "tails".
