A lucky break in Keith Urban’s tour schedule allowed his guitarist, Chad Jeffers, to play the role of supportive boyfriend. Jeffers flew to Texas today after his girlfriend’s older brother underwent a surprise quadruple heart bypass. Jeffers was seen at the hospital, hugging and cuddling his Texas gal. An insider reports he was stroking her hair, kissing her cheek and whispering words of encouragement to her. Rumor had it last week that the romance had cooled since Tex had gone back to her home state, but it appears that family obligations and not relationship issues were the cause of the separation. Things got a little sticky when Keith Urban himself called Tex on her cell phone. The two talked for quite some time as Jeffers clenched and unclenched his jaw, perhaps wondering how he had gotten the number. But he restrained himself by not asking. The two retired to her local home once the all clear was given from the hospital. Will Tex join Jeffers again in Nashville once her brother recovers? We should know shortly since Urban’s tour ends on Saturday. We don’t think Jeffers bought the new house in Nashville for a bachelor pad.

So, your brother really had a surprise quadruple bypass? I'm so sorry to hear this, Cheryl, but I'm so glad he made it through the surgery okay. I'll definitely be praying for your brother as well as you and everyone else involved. You could probably really use a Chad or Keith hug right now more than ever...

Yes bird, my brother really had surprise quadruple bypass surgery on Wed. Part 1 of the surprise was I wasn't expecting this for another 10-15 years. Part 2 is it all happened really fast - from stress test to bypass in 7 days. KP has been amazing. I appreciate ya'lls thoughts, prayers, and support. Anyone up for writing more fanfic? I think I'm going to need all the laughs I can get over the next few weeks. (And KP, feel free to send Keith and the guys my way after the concert Sat. Update: I got to bring bro home from the hospital yesterday (Sat). I may not see MY home anytime soon but he's home and doing well as far as I can tell. If any of you married ladies care to share your tips on dealing with lousy male patients I'm all ears. (No, the drug him up and put him to sleep for the next few weeks theory isn't working.
