I wonder how long it is going to take Add agencies as well as broadcasters to figure out they are dealing with a deminishing audience. It seems many of us, myself included, have had to go elsewhere from traditional radio, to find the audible entertainment we desire that we formerly got from Radio.

Posts on various boards are still wondering what happened to the Oldies CBS-FM crowd and then the Howard Stern crowd that have not yet followed him to Sirius Radio. Speaking for myself, I spend more time listening to Satellite Radio, Internet Radio, and Purchased music that I continue to acquire as well as purchased music I have had for decades.

The younger generation these add agencies feel are so important to them grew up with all of these alternatives so maybe they do not place the emphasis on listening to conventional radio that we did when we were that younger generation. They are losing listeners from each end of the age spectrum which I feel makes their viewpoint of attempting to cater to a yaounger crowd even more of a void than they imagine.

HD radio may restore some of the deminishing audience although it is still early in the HD Radio game to see how significant that will be.
