Will you bite the hand that feeds?

(The white Chevy Tahoe had been tailing her for almost two miles now, a fact that she had confirmed though a simple test of altering her speed and course as she drove through downtown Washington D.C. in the agency issued Impala that Skeeter had let her borrow that day. She pulled her lower lip between her teeth and turned her windshield wipers on higher as she checked her rearview again, and sure enough the Tahoe changed lanes when she did, trailing her just a few cars back as she took the exit that would have her heading towards the agency headquarters near the Pentagon. Of course she wouldn't drive to the headquarters, she would lose the guy before she went there, but she might as well let him think that was where she was going. What she hadn't planned on was that the guy behind her was in fact a woman, and a decoy meant to lead her into a false sense of security. By watching the guy behind her she wasn't paying as much attention to what was going on in front of her, so she paid no more attention to the black hummer that changed lanes to go around her than what was necessary for traffic purposes and wasn't prepared for the sudden and abrupt lane change that had the hummer's rear fender striking her front fender, tearing a cry from her throat and sending her into a spin on the rain-slicked road. The Impala's advanced safety system kicked in and she felt the squeal of the tires and then the sudden jarring stop that made her cry out again as the car slammed head-on into the center island embankment with a sickening crunch. She was left in a frightening silence, but pulled her wits together and had her gun in her hand without thinking about locating it, watching as the white truck slowed down as it passed her. Climbing out of the twisted wreckage of the Impala, she let her mercenary training and instincts take over and pulled her gun up to chest height, putting her hand out to stop a jeep cherokee coming towards her, ignoring the sharp pain in her hip and the blood running from her right arm to yell at the guy.) Police - out of the car! (She gestured with her gun and after a moment's hesitation the guy decided that fighting with the small and slightly crazy italian woman wasn't a good idea and abandoned his jeep to her. Once inside, she floored the vehicle, weaving through traffic until she had caught up with the white Tahoe, following at a distance. She didn't know at the time that Skeeter's car was carrying a prototype chip that he had developed that sent a distress signal to his laptop and cell phone as soon as the car's safety system had kicked into play.. so she didn't realize that Skeeter and the others would know about the accident long before she had a chance to contact them to let them know that she was safe. The car itself was mangled, wrapped around the center median and smoking, the front seat had a smattering of blood over it from where her arm had hit the shifter during the crash and the door was hanging off from where she had had to kick it open.. all in all it didn't appear as though she had faired well in the accident, since the droplets of blood ended abruptly beside the skid marks of a vehicle - making it look like she had been injured and then abducted by her attackers..)
