I didn't know an OB/gyn could prescribe more but honestly I'm comfortable with both, and both are men a few years older than me, that I've used for years. I think the gyn is still a bit rough when it comes to pap smears but I still respect him a lot for all the help we got when we had fertility issues, etc. And our GP is the head of the teaching group at that hospital - he's wonderful. They both used to work in the same hospital (gyn moved to private setup) and so I'm sure they respect each other's opinions/Rx's.
