Let me better define my stance on the power plant.

1.) I agree with you and I am sure many others do, that the power plant would bring in more of a stable income to Dracut. I would not want to see our open space handed out to unstable technology companies or other type of companies. I think that the CPA is one of the best steps that Dracut has taken, and we should preserve as much open space as we can and take all the benefits that come with it.
2.) My education on power plants is not up to par. I can only go by what information has been supplied by both Ed and others on this forum and the local papers. I will say I do, like other residents, have concerns about the impact that the plant would have on the river, noise, wildlife, and residential area surrounding the plant.

Your statement that “most people in this town overwhelmingly support this plant” was true a few years back. At that time when the people had that vote, I do believe that the exact extent of the facility and location was not described. Time has come, and things have changed. As a selectmen, why not place a poll on the next election card? I won’t bet on it, because like your counterpart, I do not gamble.

Will we or will we not see a candidate whose sole platform is anti-plant. No. If we do, they won’t get my vote. Any candidate that is going to make a run should be well rounded on all issues and willing to run there campaign that way.

Trust me, you haven’t broken anything to me.

But, just to let yourself and Ed know that I would support the power plant if the majority of Dracut feels that it is the right direction we as a town should be taking. I would also take into deep consideration to the immediate area surrounding the plant. It is not what I want personally, but what the people want.

As far as this issue goes. I will sit back and watch what happens, and then I will make my complete decision.
