You have to hand it to the Spinner organization. They have a great program going on over there. The value of entertainment is superb. Like they said on the round table, they get a lot of Dracut residents going to the game. I myself attend 90% of the home games. Great entertainment.

We all know that the power plant was going to bring in this huge amount of cash into the financial picture of Dracut. Well, over a timely period of course. It is a no win situation as far as trying to match that amount with other type of developments. The power plant is not coming and that is great for other reasons beyond the cash. I truly do not think that Dracut was ready for that type of establishment anyway. It would have decreased property value and caused environmental issues. A huge percentage of Dracut residents probably had no idea what type of business was about to be dropped in their back yard. So be it. It is not coming, and I hope the town looks really close the next time this type of business wants to claim its spot in Dracut’s yard.

The CPA is definitely a good thing for Dracut. It is going to help land preservation and keep the growth of Dracut at a reasonable rate. Hopefully we the residents and the town powers use smart thinking and utilize the CPA as a program that will help us now and in the future.

Looking at commercial growth in Dracut to bring in money. That is tough. Dracut borders New Hampshire, and being that, it makes it tough on any type of commercial business. Popping strip malls or fast food chains up all over the town for a business that has to compete with New Hampshire is a waste of land.

As far as ideas on bringing money into Dracut, boy am I stumped. It takes time; let’s think it out.
