Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts on this. I appreciate it.
You're right, a power plant would bring a vast amount of revenue to Dracut. The question is, however, how much are we as a town willing to sacrifice for the almighty dollar? Could we survive financially with an endeavor that may not bring in as much money as a power plant, but would afford us a good amount of revenue that would suffice?
I'm not lost on the irony that the town passes something like the CPA, promising to maintain Dracut's open space and rural character, and in the same breath touts a power plant, which blatently contradicts anything remotely connected with rural character (although it's a sure bet that there will be plenty of open space surrounding it!)
I'm definitely not trying to open the power plant debate again. But it would be nice to explore our options as far as revenue goes. I think that we could come up with something imaginative and constructive, that would give us the revenue we need, and would maintain our town's beauty and character.
I'm thankful to you for your thoughts on the CPA monies. This may indeed be a viable answer to some of our financial problems. I do love this town, as I know you do, and I hope that collectively we can all put our heads together and come up with something promising.
