I, for one am appalled at this article. Not for it's content, but that it opened my eyes to what Ms. Garry is lobbying for, as well as ignoring. Coming from the city, I have seen abuse of substances first hand. Each of these abusers also gets state aid, anywhere from food stamps, to welfare, to Social Security.

But, have special needs children and apply. The questions, as well as the determination process is sickening! If only my children had an alcohol or drug addiction. It would be a piece of cake for them to receive services and aide. Let them be born with Autism or Cerebral Palsy, and let's see how much we can screw them out of each of these! After all, we must continue to support those addicted to substances! Sickening!

Special needs services have been cut so much that our children are not getting the services they need, and have the constitutional right to receive! I am not talking AHDD and ADD. I am talking special needs such as Cerebral Palsy, Diplegia, Autism, Sensory Deficit, Muscular Dystrophy, Severe Learning Disabilities..et. al. The reason being, those making the cuts are also the ones making the income that can AFFORD PRIVATE CARE. Those making normal or below normal income can not!

But, let's help out the drug addicts and alcoholics. While we are at it, let's help out the addicted smokers! All of which are people that have "diseases" at their "own hand!"

I am with you on this one. As a member of a coalition that is involved in a House Bill now, and continues to appear at Beacon Hill, count me in on anything pertaining to this. I will check the board often for updates on this issue.

Thanks for opening our eyes, and keep up the good work!
