(She hated this. Hated seeing that he was in pain and having no real way to help him. She had nothing to offer him.. hell, she had nightmares of her own and Lord knew she rarely knew the right thing to say to someone. That and.. well, he had shown her tonight that she held naught but a spark when he had the entire bonfire.. she was small, weak, incapable of protecting herself. And that.. when faced with the growling face of a man twice her size and infintiely stronger than her, scared the hell out of her. Taking a deep breath, she watched as he fought the emotions that she couldn't fully pinpoint, then chewed her lip as he got to his feet. Just another proof that she held no ability to take any of his pain from him, and Lord knew she wanted to. Sighing, she nodded, she would try to sleep, though it would be difficult with so much on her mind. Obediently, she tucked her hand back into the ice pack and made to start rearranging herslef, but his comment made her stop in her tracks. She frowned, aching for him in a whole new way.. if he thought he could distance himself because of this.. he was sadly mistaken.) I couldn't do that, Braden.
