Hi, we've been dealing with the same thing. Through talking with other moms at Feis's, Megan B's mom has discovered that vodka works !?!? I was skeptical at first, but I have to admit it works, and if used correctly, there's no lingering "boozy" smell.

She filled a tiny spray container with the vodka, and sprayed a small amount on the areas. She then layed a paper towel over that to help wicking. She did this a couple of times and it works.

We're no scientists, but from what we understand, when the distilled alcohol evaporates, it takes the odor with it.

Why Vodka? It doesn't have the same stront bouquet as other alcoholic beverages. And fortunately, maybe through the sparse application, there hasn't been any lingering "boozy" stinks. As for brands, we don't drink, so I opted for a moderately priced brand, a name I'd never heard of before. Will Stolichnaya have a better affect than "Brand X," I wouldn't be able to confirm that. But it does seem that a pint of Brand X was more than enough, and it seems to be doing the trick.

Finally, after the application, I've been putting the dress on our deck outside (on pleasant days!), after the direct sun has left the area (no fading, please), with the zippered back propped open. The airring out is surely having a positive affect as well.

For more info, try asking Paulette on the Mon, Tues, Weds, that they're at the studio.
