Feis Culkin cancelled -- due to scheduling conflict (see inside), 18:15:03 08/20/07 Mon [3]

Feis Culkin 2007 Cancelled
It is with great sadness that we announce we will be unable to hold Feis Culkin this year, November 2007, due to a scheduling conflict at Mount St Mary's.
It seems the Mount is hosting a 200-year celebration that weekend, and all of their event calendars were not in sync, so the space was double booked. When we were informed of this error, we looked into every possibility to make the Feis still happen this year: changing the date, finding another venue, setting up the stages overnight. Regardless of what we tried, we could not find a workable solution that would enable the Feis to happen this year. Please know that this cancellation was unavoidable and is just for this year only - we have already registered with NAFC for Feis Culkin 2008.
Thank you to everyone for their support for our feis over the years, and we look forward to a great feis in 2008!

Please be advised that the Baltimore Feis has revised their syllabus and will now be offering Figure dances. All Figures will be danced at the completion of all preliminary and open championship competitions. Registrations for figures should be done on-line at www.eFeis.com

The Teelin Open House yesterday was a great opportunity to have some fun together and to introduce new families to our school!

This event would not have been possible without the generous help of each and every volunteer � THANK YOU!!! Special thanks to Eileen Narvell for organizing this year�s Open House � great job!

Items from the �Costume & Shoe Exchange� that were left at the end of the Open House are in the studio (dresses hanging in the closet, shoes near the stereo). If payment was collected but not yet received by the seller, please see Maureen for your envelope.

IMPORTANT:
Many students registered for classes at the Open House, and classes are filling quickly. To all returning Teelin students: if you have not yet registered for the 2007-08 school year, please do so as soon as possible! As mentioned on the placement letters last spring, a recommended placement does not guarantee a spot in that class.

Particularly in Columbia, classes for Level 1, Level 2/3 and Level 3 will likely fill to capacity. There are some students who are new to Teelin yet have prior Irish dance experience and are ready to register for these classes. Registrations are accepted on a first come, first serve basis. Registration forms have been available to all Teelin students since the spring.

Enjoy the rest of your summer! We�ll see you either at the remaining Summer Card or Clogging classes, or we�ll look forward to seeing you at the start of a new school year, which begins September 10!

Elastic bands used in class: I've seen Maureen use some sort of elastic bands to help students either stretch and/or straighten their legs. Is this something students should do at home, also? Are these purchasable? -- parent, 17:48:45 08/13/07 Mon [3]

My oldest realized this morning that she does not have her soft shoes. She had them yesterday at company and figures practice, so likely someone inadvertantly picked them up after figures. They are Fays size 2.5, and I think I've got Steeley written on the inside of the shoes. Thanks!

  - A traditional set dance is the choreography performed to traditional set music at a certain speed. There are many traditional sets (music) which have traditional set dances OR can be danced using original choreography, usually at a much slower metronome speed. Job of Journeywork is one of them! Maureen Berry has had a computer malfunction and approximately 40 unanswered emails have been lost. A computer specialist has determined that these lost emails are unrecoverable.

Does anyone know where I can get the fabric for the Advanced Beginner dress? I know it was available at Blank's Fabric Store, but they are in the process of relocating and are closed.
