    Keene Today's Girl Preliminary will be held on Sunday Nov. 30th, 2008 at the GOTTA DANCE STUDIO, 210 N Main St , Cleburne, Tx. 76031. Registration will be 1:30pm Pageant starts @ 2:30pm with interview. Special National Ballroom Dancers will perform one of their award winning performances for us during tabulation. Bonus..everyone will get a 3 to 5 minute Ballroom dancing instruction after the pageant! The pageant location is booked, we have contestants and will be holding this competition as scheduled.
    Contestants and VIP Contestants need to enter now. Deadline for entry fee's and forms is Nov. 22nd. Please email for an entry form now or call Terri @ 817-202-9088 or 682-365-2852 for information.
    Don't forget we will have many community service projects available for you to partifcipate in at the Keene Preliminary and we will have an Overall Humatarian Award for the contestant or VIP Contestant or TG Reigning Royalty who recieves the most community service hours on Nov. 30th turned in at Registration.
    Community Projects for Nov. 30th include:
    Teddy Bears For Trooper's collection..New 12" or larger Teddy Bears.

    New Christmas presents, small or large, individually wrapped candy for stockings, & Christmas Stockings may be donated for community service. $10 value = 1 hour community service.

    Christmas cards for "Recovering American Soldier": these Christmas cards need to be adressed to: Recovering American Soldier, in seperate envelopes, please write a handwritten message of appreciation for their past service for our country. Please bring a Minimum 10 cards for the Recovering American Soldiers. 1 hour community service per 10 cards with a handwritten message.

    Trooper's Who Care canned Food Drive. 5 cans for 1hour community service.

    Pretty Feet to Beautiful Feet..personal Hygeine items..sample of regular size items accepted..toohbrushes, toothpaste, soaps, shampoo's conditioners, lotions, disposable razors..etc. $10 value = 1hour community service.

    Door Charge Admission: Contestant and 1 chaperone gets in free! Reigning Royalty get in free with 1 chaperone free.
    Please inform your additional guest and family members there is a door charge: $3 Adults, $2 children 12 and under. We will take donations as listed below for each door charge. Example: Donations that equal 1 hour community service minimum per person for free door charge admission.

    We need you to reign at this preliminary..all Local, state, and National TG titleholders are invited! Please rsvp...girls and parents..that means..call or email me to let me know you plan to attend so we have a goodie bag ready for you and your spot in line-up for Reigning Royalty to be introduced.

    We have the Keene Lighted Parade scheduled on Sunday Dec. 7th @ 6:30pm....this parade is at night..is totally lighted floats and vehicles..it is great fun! Please Rsvp if you plan to attend this parade. Plese dress warm for this parade! Line-up will be at the Leiske Pultar Gymnasium in Keene, Tx. on FM 2280 across from the Lake in Keene. all Local, state, and National TG titleholders are invited! This includes any TG contestants who have competed in any prelim in Texas this year by this date..Dec. 7th, 2008.

Moms and Today's Girls...please stay involved with the activities that Today's Girl offers! So many of our events are free, and that's a great cost in a faultering economy! We need your support!     I am thankful that Kyla has gotten enough contestants to have the Brownwood pageant, and that the Lampasas pageant is going to happen, too. We both have official contestants and VIPS!!! I knew you would come thru for us and the Heart of Texas Region! However, we are never satisfied.....we want more!!! It is not too late to give Kyla a call and let her know you will be in Brownwood, and that you will be joining us in Lampasas for the pageant and the Feast. Pick up that phone....Call....Don't miss out on all the fun and celebration of Thanksgiving. If you are not with us on the 22nd of November in Lampasas, I hope you are performing at the Cummings Family benefit in Mineola. Be somewhere promoting and giving thanks that Doug created Today's Girl... how empty our lives would be without it!!!

  • For some unknown and unfortunate reason, I have not had the interest like I did last year in the Brownwood area. I have sent email after email, ran numerous ads and articles in the paper, handed out flyers, made phone calls, posted ads on Craig's List, and etc. I've had response, but no commitments. I've got to make a decision no later than Tues. whether I'm going to have it or not, so PLEASE, if you know of anybody in your area that might be interested in competing, send them my way. I need to let Doug know whether to send a kit out or not. I don't want to cancel this pageant but I may not have a choice. I know some of you have committed to coming to VIP but at this point that's all I have and I can't stage just a "VIP" pageant. I hope this finds you all doing very well and I'm looking forward to hearing back from you.     Just wanted to remind everyone about the Lampasas Today's Girl Pageant to be staged at the Grace Fellowship Church in Lampasas on Saturday, November 22nd. The Heart of Texas Region would like to invite everyone to participate as a new contestant, VIP, or reigning royalty. Registration begins at 9:30am. At 1:00pm we will offer a catered Thanksgiving Feast. The Lampasas contestants will be our special guests, and tickets are on sale for anyone who would like to join them. Deadline for entries and meal tickets are November 15th. Please make every effort to attend and make this a great event. We all have alot to be thankful for and to celebrate, because we are involved in the best youth program there is.
    If you are unable to attend, please try to support the fundraiser for the Cummings family by participating in the talent show in Mineola on November 22nd.

A grateful thanks to the Shepherd's Valley Cowboy Church for letting us host our prelim at such a wonderful facility.     Thank you to everyone for supporting our Community Service Projects for the Cleburne Area Preliminary...Teddy Bears For Trooper's, Pretty Feet to Beautiful Feet, Christmas in Mexico, & Trooper's Who Care. The girls had so much fun loading all those Teddy Bears For Trooper's in Ms. Tricia's car for the Troopers! Thank you to our judges: Ms. Tammy, Ms. Tricia, Mr. Anthony & our tabulator, Ms. Tammy L. A special Thanks to Ms. Nancy, Grandpapa Stephan, Ms. Cristi, Ms. Krista. Thank you to our sponsor's, Photography by Jodie. Thank's Ms. Tracie & Taylor for those cupcakes..they were delish!!! A grateful thanks to the Shepherd's Valley Cowboy Church for letting us host our prelim at such a wonderful facility. A big HUG to our TG Reigning Royalty for making our 1st Cleburne Area Today's Girl Preliminary such a great success. Reigning Royalty attending were: Crista Mallory, Kylan Noblitt, Cristian Mallory, Taylor Clark, Keely Wallen, & Wendy Luttrell. Our contestants were amazing and we can't wait to see them on the big 2009 Texas Today's Girl state stage!     Community service project:Pretty Feet to Beautiful Feet: Donate personal hygeine items to Beautiful Feet, a Homeless Mission. Suggested items: Soaps, shampoo's, conditioner's, lotion's, toothpaste, and toothbrushes, combs, and brushes. Donate all those items you have collected at the hotels! Start earn your community service hours right now.
    Teddy Bears For Troopers: medium to large NEW Teddy Bears with tags on. 12" to 15 " or larger. 2hr.'s per bear donated.
    Group communty service form for this event will be filled out after pageant and mailed or given to you 1 week after the pageant. You are required to make a copy for yourself and 1 copy to be turned into your Community Service Coordinator, Mrs. Tricia Young-Adams.

  • POW WOW Parade---October 11 in Chandler. Line up begins at 8:30 and the parade starts at 10a.m. Please come and participate in the parade. There are vendors,etc set up if you would like to visit any after the parade. I am asking that all parade float riders wear something dressy with crown and banner.     Wanted to invite you to the Pecan Capital Trades Day and the Impact 2000 City Wide Garage Sale on the square in San Saba on Nov. 1st. Today's Girl will have a booth and be collecting donations for Glenda Ragland, a cancer victim, from San Saba. There will be a sound system for you to entertain. We will be performing from 9:00am -1:00 pm. We are expecting approx. 3000 in San Saba for the opening of Deer Season. We need a good group to spread the word about Today's Girl and earn community service hours.
