  • ATTENTION TG FAMILY! Your help is needed! Last night, Carley Cummings' house caught fire and they have lost everything. She lives there in Mineola with her mom, Rita - brother - Dalton, and dad - Ricky. I spoke with Rita this morning and did get clothes sizes for Carley and Dalton. Carley wears a size 10-12 in clothes and a size 1 shoe. Dalton wears a 10-12 clothes and a size 2 shoe. Please contact me if you need any more information.   • SIX FLAGS EVENT: We have set a date for our fun at Six Flags for Saturday, November 1. The park is open that day from 10 am to 10 pm. We will meet at the picnic area at noon for lunch. Please sign up below to attend and list what picnic food you will bring to share. All TG girls and their families are responsible for their own tickets. If anyone knows of discount ticket availability through your work, etc. please post that information on the board. Let's enjoy this time together in the nice FALL weather, instead of the burning hot summer! For community service, please bring large bags of candy (stay away from chocolate) and we will use those for a Halloween/Fall Festival community service project. Start earn your community service hours right now.
    Teddy Bears For Troopers: medium to large NEW Teddy Bears with tags on. 12" to 15 " or larger. 2hr.'s per bear donated.

    Community service project:
    Stuffed animal drive for Cook's Children's Hospital Prayer Bear Drive. Any size new stuffed animal or toy as long as it is NEW with tags. These stuffed animals go to the children at the hospital who have to stay over night. They must come bagged in plastic and be free of a smoke environment for hospital sanitary reasons. Small stuffed animals under 12"..community service hours will be but will be downgraded as per size. 12" or larger stuffed animals will be awarded 2 hours per stuffed animal. If you have gently used stuffed animals you want to donate that are in really good shape..we will take them and donate to the homeless shelter in Fort Worth.
    Canned Food Drive for "Needy assistance Program" at Shepherd's Valley Cowboy Church. 5 cans = 1 hr. community service.

  • Cummings Family Status: I spoke with Rita this morning and she was in great spirits, although she was quite teary-eyed and elated over the overwhelming help that has been provided to them by her Today's Girl family. Within a week or so she may be able to move in to another home. She is going to call me when she has more final times on that, and I think that it might be a great idea to gather a few dads in that area that might be willing to help in a "Work Day" to help put together and move furniture, etc. Watch the message board for more posts. -- tyoungadams, 11:55:34 09/05/08 Fri [1]

    Please pray for my mom as she seized during a bath this week and almost drowned, I was able to get the paramedics to her and she spent three days in the hospital.She is home now but on many medicines for her heart and lungs.They say most of the water has cleared but she will be down for a while.They have medicated her in hopes the pneumonia will not come back.
    I would like to ask my TG FAMILY to pray for her during this crucial time.Thanks in advance for calling on God to heal her,

  • I need all my TG Family to pray for my mother. Many of you know her and that she has parkinson's along with breaking her hip 4 years ago. Well we are visiting them in East Texas and my mom has just fallen and broken her other hip. The doctor's last week told her she could not survive another surgery. We are sittting in the ER waiting to get word from a doctor as to what will happen. We were suppose to go home tomorrow but will probably be here for awhile. Keep us all in your prays please.   • THE JUNIOR DIVISION ROCKED AT NATIONALS... I had such a great time. Congrats to Sloan, you will make an awsome National Queen. You have amazing talent and you are a beautiful person. Cassie L. what can I say....I am so proud of you. You had it going on this year and next year Me you and Kristen get to be TEENS!!!!! Yeah. They better watch out cause here we come. To Kie Burns you were a fabulous room mate. You are so funny and made me laugh. I am so glad you learned to swim while at Nationals. Stick with me and Cassie we can teach you lots of stuff! LOL You are so pretty and you did a great job. I can not wait for next year. TG is the best and just keeps getting better and better.     parade aug 11th. coming from Venus...take 67..before you reach Alvarado turn left on business 67-spur 379. turn right on Shelton... go one block...turn left on Sparks.

    Coming from I-35...from Fort Worth...take left exit to 67East to Alvarado......turn left at red light on Hwy 67, follow through next red light & go past post office.......turn right onto Business 67-spur 379.....turn right on Shelton.....go one block...turn left on Sparks.

    Coming from I-35...from Waco...take exit to 67East to Alvarado......turn right at red light onto Hwy 67, follow through next 2 red light's & go past post office.......turn right onto Business 67-spur 379.....turn right on Shelton.....go one block...turn left on Sparks.

    Coming from Cleburne on Hwy 67 E......stay on Hwy 67 East through Alvarado...... follow through all red light's & heading out of Alvarado toward Venus...go past post office.......turn right onto Business 67-spur 379.....turn right on Shelton.....go one block...turn left on Sparks.

    Find pink glittered crown decorations on truck and trailer and you will find Today's Girl float! Decorating at 4pm...judging at 5pm...on float at 5:45...parade starts at 6pm. Try to at least be there by 15 till 6pm to load onto the float dressed with crowns and banners. Wear reigning outfits or Sunday dress and crowns and banners.

    Hint....good hair style idea is curled up into crown...it will be very hot!!!

    Bring water, umbrella, sun screen and cameras. snacks or money for later.

    See you guys there drive safely, & Don't forget your New Teddy Bears and or your canned food donations.
    You will stay seated on float at end of parade for group shot before we release you to parents at the Reunion Pavillion Area.

    Please bring at least 1 medium or large(15 to 18inch) NEW Teddy Bear(with the tags still on) or 5 cans of canned foods for your donation to ride on this float for our community service project Teddy Bears For Trooper's Collection Drive. The NEW Teddy Bears and Canned Foods will be collected by Cristian and Crista Mallory for Teddy Bears For Trooper's, and the Canned Foods collected will be donated to Trooper's Who Care. You will recieve 2 hours per NEW Teddy Bear and 1 hour per 5 cans..please feel free to bring as many extra NEW Teddy Bears or cans of Canned Foods you want to bring to accumulate extra hours. We will be supporting both of these causes on this float. The Teddy Bears will ride the float with us..go Teddy Bears For Troopers!


    Parade line-up:4pm to decorate and load up on float by 4:45pm. Parade judging: 5pm, Parade begins: 6pm No candy allowed to be thrown at this parade. Parents can walk by float and give out candy only. Dress in reigning attire ( or Sunday School attire), crowns, and banners. Please no shorts/T-shirts, jeans, etc. for this parade..you may bring your TG t-shirts & shorts to change in after the parade is over to wear with your crown and banner..and stay and watch the Queen's Contest at 8pm afterwards if you wish. Please represent your title with pride...no short shorts, low-rider jeans, or short skirts please, and no bellies exposed..and no profanity at allowed at any time during the parade or the contest by a TG representative or their parents or guests while representing as a TG.
    Baby Contest and Community service opportunity: 116th Johnson County Old Settler's and Reunion Parade on TUESDAY:Aug. 12th, 2008.Local Baby Contest7pm. Please wear: your TG t-shirts & shorts to wear with your crown and banner to watch the Baby Contest at 7pm . Please represent your title with pride...no short shorts, low-rider jeans, or short skirts please, and no bellies exposed..and no profanity at any time.
    This year..the carnival will not begin until Wednesday night.

    Cost for parking personal vehicle at Reunion Pavillion: $1 per person to get into the parking areas, although all girls...TG representatives riding the float will get into the parking area free. You may bring snacks, drink's etc. on each night. Water only in plastic bottles on the float please. No glass bottles of any kind will be allowed into the reunion pavillion area or parking lot. Bags will be checked.
    For Parade: Bring your TG umbrella's, as it will probably be very hot, and it has been known to rain on us..LOL!! seriously..it has..but we had fun anyway. Coat your daughter's in sun-screen.. ..bring bottled water for them to drink before and during the parade. You may bring already blown up hellium balloons to help decorate the float if you wish, but make sure they are TG pink/ Black/ or white, silver or gold as we wish to make this a beautiful float again this year. We have won this parade a couple of times..let's do it again and let's promote Today's Girl!
    All TG reigning royalty are invited to participate in this parade and community service project....please remember to bring your donations to line-up along with your community service paperwork. Parents of babies 3 and under..you "do not need to be at line-up until 4:40 as it will be hot. But please be there by then and dressed, so we can place them in their spot on the float before judging. Parents..Please have your daughters completely dressed with crowns and banners at this time amd ready to get on the float. The parade starts and the judging starts whether we are on time or not.

It is important that you call me and let me know you are planning on riding in this parade. We want to have enough space for everyone that intends to ride. Those of you that wish to help decorate the float (older girls 10 & up) and or their parents..be at parade line-up at 4pm. Just look for all the TG Pink and Black!!!
    Location: Take Business 67 off of Hwy 67 towards downtown area. We will be lined up on Spears St. by the Kiddie Koral Day Care Center. You will need to drop your daughter's off if they are not riding accompanied by a parent by 4:40pm..please stay with your daughter's until they are loaded onto the float. Then you may go and watch the parade, or try to get a closer parking spot at the end of the parade at the Reunion Pavillion where we will unload the girls..and they will only be dismissed to the parent. Please be waiting at the end of the parade location for your daughter as we have to undecorate the float and we don't want to miss the Queen's Contest.

    To all of you wonderful little girls, Congratulations you did a great jog! To my South Central TX Regional girls, Shirdelle Commings, Rayhan Chang, Ashtyn Shaw, Jordan Connell, Kemble Cothran, Montana Sowell, Nataly Diaz, Tosha Williams,Tamira Gary and Avery Shaw, you all did a terrific job and I am very proud of you. I am also very proud of the Central Texas Regional girls, you did great!
    And to the girls I worked with on prep day, you are very special to me. I really enjoyed watching you on stage and cheering for you. I look forward to seeing all of you next year. Work hard this year, this competition is tough.

  • THANK YOU : Jesse and I were so happy to see all of the girls and moms, as well as staff memberts at the pageant. We can't express how much we missed being there during the week with all of you. You are truly family to us, and so many of you have emailed during the past month with my sister's loss of her triplets and me being in the hospital. It touches my heart that you care for us enough to be so concerned and prayerful for my family. We are already looking forward to next year and we will be in the Junior category one more year, then it's on to teen and evening gowns - Jesse is thrilled about that!
