Graceland/Elvis Presley Enterprises Partners with
Vermont Teddy Bear to Help Kids Rock n Roll
Proceeds from Sale of The Friend for Life Bear
Benefit Little Kids Rock Programs Across the Country
July 3, 2003 - San Francisco, CA - Little Kids Rock
(LKR) an innovative non-profit music program for
children, today announced that it will be the
beneficiary of a partnership between Graceland/Elvis
Presley Enterprises, Inc. and The Vermont Teddy Bear
Company. These organizations have come together to
offer members of the Official Elvis Collectors Club a
one-of-a-kind collectible teddy bear. Three hundred of
the limited edition Friend for Life collectible
bears designed by The Vermont Teddy Bear Company will
be produced. All proceeds from the sale of the bears
will go directly to fund Little Kids Rocks free music
programs in California, New York, New Jersey and
Tennessee.
"Little Kids Rock is honored by the kind and generous
efforts put forth by both Graceland/Elvis Presley
Enterprises, Inc. and The Vermont Teddy Bear Company,
said David Wish, Executive Director, Little Kids Rock.
It is a privilege to be recognized by two such
outstanding organizations. Their generosity will
enable us to reach hundreds of new students this year.
The Founding Members Collectors Club Teddy Bear is a
13 honey-colored bear wearing an Official Elvis
Collectors Club t-shirt. Each bear will also be
wearing one of the rare, gold-colored founding member
pins that are no longer available for sale. The bears,
which will be available in mid-August, will be priced
at $69.99 each and are available to Collectors Club
members only.
Graceland/Elvis Presley Enterprises is the latest name
on LKR's growing list of high profile supporters.
Bonnie Raitt, Paul Simon and BB King are honorary
members of the Board of Directors. Carlos Santana's
Milagro Foundation has purchased more than $10,000
worth of instruments for the program. Bob Weir and
members of the Grateful Dead have funded classes. The
String Cheese Incident has held silent auctions. John
Lee Hooker was a founding Board Member and visited
some classes before his passing.
About The Official Elvis Collectors Club
The Official Elvis Collectors Club, which was begun
less than a year ago, was created by Elvis Presley

Elvis memorabilia a way of connecting with each other
while providing information, collectible items and
memorabilia from the Graceland archives.

About Little Kids Rock
Little Kids Rock believes that music is a critical
component of a first-rate education. Many elementary
schools have been stripped of their music programs.
These cuts have had a disproportionately large impact
on children from low-income backgrounds. Little Kids
Rock restores music to its rightful place in the
academic lives of the kids in our public schools by
providing a rich music education program including
instruments, instruction, and trained mentors. Founded
in 1996, Little Kids Rock is headquartered in San
Francisco, California and serves schools throughout
the San Francisco Bay Area, New York, New Jersey and
Memphis. Little Kids Rock will be opening chapters in
Boston and Los Angeles in 2003. For more information,
