San Francisco, CA - Little Kids
Rock (LKR), an innovative non-profit music education
program that provides free instruments and instruction
to disadvantaged children, is pleased to announce a

relationship will enable the national distribution of
LKRs CD, Little Kids Rock, Coast-to-Coast, which
features original songs written and performed by
children, in such national retail outlets as, Barnes
and Noble, Tower Records and Virgin Mega Stores, among
others. All proceeds from the sale of the $11.99 CD

California, New York, New Jersey, Tennessee and
Massachusetts, and assist the launching of new classes
in across the country. The CD will be distributed by
City Hall Records and will be available in stores
beginning November 2003.
LKR Coast-to-Coast is the organizations fourth
full-length CD. The album features 14 tracks, 12 of
which are original compositions written by children
ages 7 to 14. The CD is the organizations first
national compilation album and features performances
by students in LKR programs across the country.
Little Kids Rock is currently producing another
benefit CD that will feature celebrity supporters
performing songs composed by LKR students.
Dave Wish, founder of Little Kids Rock, adds, This is
a next step that is critical to LKRs ongoing mission
to create awareness and change in the nations current
music education dilemma. Now people across the
country can experience how our quality music education
program has touched the lives of our students.

their own music in a variety of genres including pop,
rock, funk, blues, rap and hip-hop. In addition to
releasing four full-length CDs, Little Kids Rock

Tennessee. Supporters of the program include Paul
Simon, B.B. King, Bonnie Raitt, Les Paul, Carlos
Santana, the Grateful Deads Bob Weir, The String
Cheese Incident, Phish, and the late blues legend,

ABOUT LITTLE KIDS ROCK
Founded in 1996, Little Kids Rock believes that music
is a critical component of a first-rate education.
Ongoing federal and state budget cuts have stripped
countless elementary schools of their funding for
music programs. These cuts have had a
disproportionately large impact on children from
low-income backgrounds. By providing economically
disadvantaged children with free music instruction and
instruments, Little Kids Rock actively works to
restore music to its rightful place: as an integral
part of the academic lives of public school students.
Little Kids Rock currently serves schools throughout
the San Francisco Bay Area, New York, New Jersey and
Memphis, Tennessee. New LKR chapters will be
launching in Los Angeles, Boston and Chicago during
the 2003-2004 school year. More information on Little
Kids Rock is available at www.littlekidsrock.org.
