Hi,

Just happened to stumble onto this board while looking for info. for our next visit and discovered that my posts on Tripadvisor where discussed.

I just thought I would clarify any misunderstandings.
First the post where I discuss the home increasing 22% for the same week:

The home is Villa Elena and we have rented it twice. Both times through Royal Shell because the owners website actually quoted a higher price than Royal Shell.

Last year we paid for a week in July a base Rent of $2850. per week. This same week this year is renting for $3590.00 which is actually higher than the 22% increase I estimated.

This base rent does not include taxes etc...

The second home I spoke about was "Open Breeze" as you mentioned renting for $6,000 per summer week. I reccomended the property, and I agree with the poster who said count me in at $1500. per couple for a week in paradise! What my post said was that as a former renter of "Open Breeze" this property is now too costly for ME to rent. We are a family of 2 adults and three school age children. My budget is $3,000. per week.

As for American Realty Company, I probably won't ever deal with them because of how they handeled property issues with good friends who rented through them.

As a visitor who rents a private home every summer for the last 7 years, I can assure you that the prices are up considerably on a number of properties. I had a difficult time finding something in my price range.
