Author: J R Hartley
Subject: Here's a little fairy story for a Monday.....once upon a time there was a Pixie who was ever so mean. He was close friends with the wicked witch of the West and part of a witches coven whose name could not be spoken anywhere in the land of Web. (more inside)

Over many years he had worked his way up the ladder to become very important in the lands of Middle Earth, and was friends with all of the Elven Lords. Because of this he treated all of the little sprites badly, thinking in his heart that the Elven Lords would always protect him.

One day a Hobbit came to pass. He wasn't very important, but he knew right from wrong, and was the only Hobbit in the whole of Middle Earth who was prepared to say the name of the coven out loud in the land of Web.

Seeing that the Pixie was behaving so badly he said "Enough, I challenge the Elven Lords to stop this Pixie from treating all the little sprites so badly.

At first the Elven Lords were keen to protect their friend but soon they found that more and more sprites, emboldened by the steadfastness of the Hobbit, began to rebel against the nasty Pixie and his master, the evil witch of the West. Eventually rather than risk a rebellion, they decided that enough really was enough.

The little Pixie was banished from the realm of Middle Earth, back to the West from whence his evildoings sprang, and the last time he was seen, he was down in the Gutter.

The moral of the story is don't tread on the little people on the way up the ladder, as they might just knock you back down again, and it's a long crawl back out of the gutter.

[> [> Interesting spin on a story unknown to majority!! But tbh, you sound pretty obsessed. Careful, too many I have seen with this orientation end out in the gutter themselves! -- sad, Fri, Aug 17 2007, 19:10:44 [1]

[> Last time I saw your so called 'evil' pixie, he was enjoying copious amounts of celebration with his very happy and very successful little dancing sprites. They had all done particularly well at one of those major pixie competitions. Is that in the Gutter? -- me, Sat, Aug 18 2007, 18:22:35 [1]

[> [> Funny I wondered that as well. Be warned all as the "evil" pixie is an accomplished swordsman and is very good at crossing them -- & remember winning the battle is not winning the war, Sat, Aug 18 2007, 18:50:00 [1]

[> [> Of course I have no idea who you are talking about, as I was just telling a little fairy story, but you obviously feel that you recognise someone in real life, In my allegorical story it is not the Sprites who are in the Gutter (which is not something that would fit the moral of the story, after all), but just the evil Pixie. And remember that little Hobbits are used to wielding Orc destroying swords and wear elven methril to protect them when travelling out of Middle Earth into the dark lands of Kaye-Lea -- in the shadow of Mordor, Sat, Aug 18 2007, 22:13:32 [1]

[> Of course you have no idea who you're talking about, your little fairy story is the most mysterious I have ever come across. So thickly veiled that one would take years to find a similar situation in today's irish dancing world. You must be a very clever hobbit JR Hartley, the cleverest I have ever known.Maybe the government could hire you to create secret codes for them? Or you might get a role in the next Bourne film? -- For Mrs Brains Hartley from Mrs Sacastic., Sun, Aug 19 2007, 10:41:10 [1]
