Chest: 36 in
Nat waist: 31 in
Dropped waist: 34 in
Total length: 29-30 in

I'd prefer a darker colored dress with a dropped waist, suitable for prizewinner/prelim.
My budget is around $1000 US.

I've just taken this quote from a previous post by IrishDaz:

I realise I've been quite harsh on you this evening Irishdaz, I hope this comes across as me feeling very strongly about the important issue of child protection and not a personal gripe - it is certainly not the latter. However, I must ask you to clarify the above post. If there were members of CLRG who were convicted child molesters and were allowed to continue working for the organisation - I certainly would leave the organisation, and I would certainly suggest it wasn't promoted on websites. Surely, we would all expect that the organisation would ask those members to leave?? Which is why I have an issue with you or other websites promoting WIDA as an organisation. Is the organisation not stating, by working along side this man, that they are happy for paedophiles to work within their team?

I do not tar all the teachers of this organisation with the same brush. But I do question their lack of action on this matter. I am a member of CLRG - and if another member was a convicted paedophile - I would push for that person to be out of the organisation. I would not be associated with an organisation that tolerated such members. So why are these teachers happy to be associated with an organisation that allows anyone to teach for them? Child protection is paramount. When you sit a TCRG exam you are police checked.

What are the legal requirements for teachers involved with WIDA? That they are open and honest about their past?!
There are certain standards that parents expect. If any tom dick or harry is allowed to teach their child - because the organisation doesn't have standards - they need to be informed. IF the organisation doesn't run a police check, it needs to be closed and certainly should not be advertised.

- It all depends which country you are in as to whether a police check is required. As previously stated some European countries don't have a paedophile register and therefore do not require police checks. It's not the organisation it's the country they live in and that is probably why that country was chosen by the founder!!! I think we should be concerned about the shenanigans of some of the CLRG TC's too. Just observing that in some regions in particular age groups I only recognise the top two qualifyers and in some cases only 2 or 3 schools really feature in results. In the SR and the midlands, there is such a large number of schools and top dancers, a lot of these do not qualify. It is difficult to accept that when some of these dancers recall at every feis (top ten) and would normally come ahead of some dancers who qualify every year due to their small region. BTW you can't rely on the BN's as a secondary qualifyer. London alone houses almost 20% of the countrys population so it stands to reason there should be a higher ratio of qualifying. I know it is due to entry numbers but to win out of intermediate in SR is excruciatingly hard (high numbers and only 1st place moves up). I'm not putting anyone down but just think it makes sense when we see results and we know it is a travesty some people should be competing at the worlds, and others are very lucky due to geography! -- What do we think? - I totally agreeabout the S.R. My dd recalls very regularly now at regional feises and the majors but has not qualified and feels she never will. There are such a high number of top dancers in the S.R. in her age group. Also it is frustrating for her when she sees girls qualify from other regions that she has placed higher than many times. Don't begrudge anyone their place at the Worlds, just wish she had more chance of reaching her goal. Maybe we should take her to the All Irelands instead and see how she fares. Even though we're small, we do have 2 particularly strong age groups with dancers not qualifying who regularly place high at majors. Really enjoyed GBs this year. Brighton was fantastic, maybe I'm not critical enough, but thought the venue was fine, halls all under one roof and once I got the hang of the place they were all easy to get to. - Yup my kids had a fab time, walking along the beach and the pier, Hotel was brilliant and warm with decent food, Pointins held no fun for us. - I loved getting into a warm and clean bed each night...we stayed till Friday!! Loved the beach, the pier, the shops and the architecture and general ambiance of the place. - It is no different than the competetive Ballet world, children there are also pushed way beyond what their under developed muscles and tendons should really do. I am also an ex professional ballet dancer, the one thing I will say in the favour of ID is there is no forced sustained turnout that does so much harm to young ballet dancers.     - I am the poster above, I have taught ID and Ballet and the emphasis is different . If a Ballet dancer did hop two three's, the underneath leg would be turned out to the side. There are no adage movements in ID where a strong, sustained turnout is required. If your DD is at a competetive Ballet school, which was what I was refering to in my post, her turnout would be being forced more than in an ID class. Because as in ID they want the finished artical from their dancers at a very young age. This is what I feel does more damage to young joints than anything else. Hence my comments above. Your DD must go to a Ballet school that does not enter that many, if any festivals or she would find the lesson structure to be the same as her ID class. It is with great regret that I have closed the MAIDs board.

It would seem that some people are more interested in trying to 'out' the Mods than concentrating on what's actually going on in the World of ID.

I neither have the time nor inclination to be arguing with people any more. I have a life that goes beyond ID now, thankfully.

The board has, in the past years, changed dramatically, after those who set it up, with all good intentions, were hounded into obscurity.

I apologise to the die hards who tried to make it work, but it has just proved to be too stressful for me to try and keep a handle on it of late, especially when I was offline for days last week and was still accused of things I had no control over.

So thanks to everyone for their support, but it's really time to get on with things other than deleting vitriol from people who should know better!

- There appears to be a lot of pressure on the Mods of various forum in an attempt to get them to close down. Why anyone needs to "out" the Mods I can't understand, as their anonymity is purely to protect them from the politics of Irish dance, and personal attacks. In fact most of the forum are truly independent, and moderated with a light touch, simply to protect people from nasty attacks and possible lible or slander. If we lose the forum we'll be taking a step back into the dark ages before the Internet, where dancers were isolated from each other and the poor behaviour of certain AD's and TCRG was kept out of sight, with no-one knowing what was happening. - As Irishdaz said, being able to share and chat with others in ID has been one of the most positive advances in ID and that is something none of us want to loose. It is due to the majority of the board users, who provide valuable information, often with humour and mostly their great support of each other that makes running the boards worthwhile. As a parent of a dancer it has been a God send to know that other parents and their children have been there, done that, and lived to sell the t-shirts. A convicted paedophile, who admits to his past, is deported for violating the child protection act. His conviction means he cannot work with children or be involved with them again, he ignored this advice, and so is deported. He then starts up a new organisation in the country he's currently living in, advertises on here for teachers (without telling people who they will be working for) - continues to run workshops, competitions and adult classes. But this is all ok apparently, because WIDA 'is not just Sean Gavan', it's a whole organisation and the convicted paedophile is not allowed to be left alone with children. And Irish Daz is happy to advertise the organisation, because Sean has been very up front with him about his past (lucky Daz). Irish Daz also feels that the organisation contains a great deal of innocent teachers and children, who should not be punished for their leader's crimes.

What a joke.

If our prime minister was a convicted paedophile, his MPs might well be innocent, but they would replace their leader. If a head teacher, or a school governor, was a convicted paedophile - the school would continue with a change of leadership. This organisation should continue with a change in president.

Irish daz says (and I quote): 'maybe he does have something to offer the world of irish dance'. This has not been thought out carefully enough. It's not just about whether he's alone with children, or whether he's president or active teacher in the organisation, it's about the statement you are making. He's present at competitions and workshops where children are performing - how would you feel about his thoughts towards those children - or indeed what he does with the photos after the event. I certainly would not want a photo of my daughter up on his wall at home - would you? Paedophilia is a sexual preference - it's not a mistake, or a one off - a paedophile sees children in the same way we might eye up Brad Pitt or Kelly Brook. By supporting the organisation, you are allowing him access to a whole load of child pin ups - on a regular basis. It's not always the actions parents need to be worried about.

You say that his former class were very supportive of him, raised a whole load of money to fund his defence. Just because he is a paedophile, doesn't mean he doesn't have the ability to build relationships with people. They might well have supported him - but that's more than likely because they didn't believe the conviction.

The tone of your posts on here suggest that you feel that the man is sorry for what he's done so we should give him a second chance. I agree, the organisation should not be punished, but until they insist on a change in leadership - they are opening their children up to danger. You might argue there is danger everywhere. Very true. But we must do our utmost to avoid it - if a man walked into a feis with 'paedophile' written on his t-shirt, he would be asked to leave, would he not? Like I said before, the risk here is what is being promoted by continuing to allow this man to run an organisation.

parents and teachers who have said they are ok with it are misguided. Have you wondered what's crossing his mind when he sits and watches your son/daughter dance at a feis?

We can't always spot a paedophile, but where it is obvious, they should not be encouraged or allowed to be involved in an organisation which is based around children. It's illegal.

If you are supporting this organisation, please make a stand and rally for a new leader. You would not be able to live with yourself if this person reoffended.

Let me make it clear - I do not support any paedophile. However, I am trying to separate my own strong feelings about an individual from the group he formed. I 100% agree he should be more open about being president, and on the original website he was. I have no idea why he doesn't do so still. If TCRG had not affiliated to WIDA it would not now exist. As it does I support them as teachers. I cannot do that without accepting the federation, even if I do not like the person at the top. Maybe one day he will be driven out and WIDA will continue without him as its head. It won't get big enough for that without being allowed to advertise, so I believe for the long term good of ID we have to accept matters not being quite as we'd like in the short term. I am not going to take part in this any further as I sense a tone that may lead to further mis-interpretation of my motives.
