Subject: If you don't agree then don't buy a raffle ticket - easy. Fair game to them for helping dancers fundraise - how many other teachers would put up a raffle prize of this amount to help their dancers. At the end of the day, for the cost of a local feis entry (fees + door), you could win an individually designed, top of the range dress, without an excessively long waiting list. Sounds like a good deal to me - but if you don't like it, then nobody's personally asking you to buy. OP has just made a post open to all. Good luck to them for their fundraising. Live and let live.
In reply to: wishwillow 's message, "Seeing discussion about fund raising for those going to NAN's, surely going to NAN's is choice, as is All Irelands, European's and every feis other then the World's. The World's is the only one you have to qualify for and therefore, one would maybe feel an obligation to attend, for that I would expect a school to be as supportive as possible as the dance is their representing the school. But to ask others to fanancially support people who choose to do the other feis isn't really fair." on Mon, May 07 2007, 0:18:07
