My daughter recently competed in preliminaries. We were not told of a height requirement. The judge told her while she was the best in all categories she was too short. They put thru a taller girl because of that fact. My child was devastated. If this is true, this should be disclosed. As a parent, I have supported her in all endeavors. I didn't want her to do this particular pageant because of the swimsuit component. Teens deal enough with self image issues. I am hopeful that by making others aware of this height issue. I have also asked to speak with the director to discuss that judges comment to my daughter. If your daughter chooses to compete all the best to them. I have already told mine she will not be in this pageant system. I like the pageants that truly focus on your inner beauty and personality with interview, onstage and formal. I wish you the best

[> Subject: There are no height requirements, I would gave her compete at large at the state level. If your preliminary director has these practices you should contact your state and nationa headquarters.

[> Subject: There isn't a height requirement. I'm guessing that judge or that panel of judges just preferred a taller contestant when they made their subjective top five placements.
