Welcome everyone to the new unofficial Miss Teen USA message board. This board was created for the civil pageant dicussion on the Miss Teen USA pageant and the delegates who competed in this system, both past and present. Civil discussion and constructive criticism is welcome, but negative, mean-spirited criticism, bashing, imappropiate posts, name-calling on people or the delegates and making downright mean and nasty remarks will not be tolerated in this forum, and if continued will be grounds for banishment.

Jessie Colonna
Miss Kansas Teen USA 2008

Kansas has had top ten placements each of the past three years... but before 2005 had not placed since 1997!

Quick Bio:
Jessie is a junior at St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Overland Park, Kansas. She has been named to the Principal’s Honor Roll every semester since her freshman year, and is a self-proclaimed math and science geek. Jessie is also a member of the golf team at Aquinas and the junior golf program at Hallbrook Country Club in Leawood, Kansas. She is a proud member of S.A.D.D., the French Club, I.C.A.N., and the Spirit Club. On March 2, 2008, Jessie was inducted into the National Honor Society.

Some of Jessie’s hobbies include shopping and going to the movies with friends, reading, playing golf, and dancing. She has studied ballet for 11 years, and also enjoys jazz and tap dancing. She is a sports fanatic and can be found watching the latest KU game or her revered Lakers on TV. Jessie also loves to travel and has visited Hawaii, Ireland, Scotland, England, France and Spain. She and her family recently sponsored a Audrey, a French student, for 2 weeks, and Jessie spent 3 weeks with Audrey’s family in Paris and the south of France.

Shannen Reil
Miss Kentucky Teen USA 2008

Shannen is the youngest contestant in this year's pageant, and the youngest Kentucky delegate in over ten years. Kentucky hasn't placed since 2005.

Shannen is a student at Johnson Central High School.

Lindsey Evans
Miss Louisiana Teen USA 2008

Louisiana hasn't placed since Shelley won in 2004 - a streak of non-placement that has only happened once before. Lindsey is their first 18 year old delegate since 2005.

Quick Bio:
Lindsey is an 18 year old graduate of Northwood High School and will be attending Northwestern State University majoring in Broadcast Journalism in the fall of 2008. Lindsey's hobbies include dancing, shopping, and networking. She also thoroughly enjoys playing with and caring for her chihuahuas, Babii and Zeke. After graduating from college, she is planning on pursuing another one of her dreams: becoming a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader. Lindsey believes in giving 100% to everything she does and always being herself. Her personal motto is "If you want the rainbow, you have to tolerate the rain"

Miss Maine Teen USA 2008

Maine has only placed three times - and onlyone time in the past 11 years!

Quick Bio:

Avery Barr is 16 years old and a Junior at Gorham High School. She is a member of her school's Field Hockey and Indoor Track teams. Avery and her family volunteer every year for Camp Susan Curtis, an organization that strives to offer the positive experiences and enviornment that many economically disadvantages children need to gain self-esteem, a sense of belonging, and achievement.

When would be the best time to check? Does anyone out there have a friend/family member who will be reporting back to them either during or immediately after the event? According to an email out of Florida & corroborated by the Future Productions website, there will definitely be a Miss Teen USA 2009 pageant. Even more interesting.... they've extended the age window at either end. The new requirement is: "Must be at least 14 years of age, and under 19 years of age on February 1, 2009." This means that you can be anywhere between 14 yrs 8 months and 19 yrs 8 months and compete at TUSA next year (compared to between 14 yrs 11 months - 18 yrs 11 months approx this year)
