A local Twin Falls girl achieved more than she imagined when she ran for Miss Idaho Teen USA last Saturday.

Hosanna Kabakoro, 17, took home the crown. Her co-contestants voted her Miss Congeniality, and she also won Most Photogenic. She says she is thrilled to represent the Magic Valley. She won a $45,000 scholarship, cash and prizes. This was also her first time ever competing in a pageant, and it took her well over a year to prepare.

Kabakoro said, "Just exercising, eating right, practicing for interviews with a lot of people, everybody was sick of me asking them to ask me questions for a year and a half. The Miss Magic Valley organization helped me out a lot, too."
Miss Idaho Teen USA will be competing in the Miss Teen USA competition in the summer.
