This board was created for the civil pageant dicussion on the Miss Teen USA pageant and the delegates who competed in this system, both past and present. Civil discussion and constructive criticism is welcome, but negative, mean-spirited criticism, bashing, imappropiate posts, name-calling on people or the delegates and making downright mean and nasty remarks will not be tolerated in this forum, and if continued will be grounds for banishment.

We had so much fun when four of our aspiring Miss Florida USA delegates joined the circus for an afternoon. It was up on the trapeze for our fearless ladies as they were shown the ropes by Julio Gaona of the famous circus family. All the fun was in our new Arts Park at Young's Circle as we pretape for Miss Florida USA 2009!

A little about us: This is a national competition, The TEEN division is a new addition this year. Delegates will represent their state or region this July in Portland, Oregon. In addition to many gifts and prizes, our teen winner will receive an educational scholarship,and many national appearance opportunities. Our Miss winner will be flown to a world class International event for approximately 3 weeks in the fall to represent the US in the MISS EARTH pageant. Our entry fee is very affordable-often half of most state entries, and ALL delegates will receive gifts worth over $750. In addition to representing your state, you will also have an opportunity to be involved with a very worthy cause - the preservation and protection of our environment. Since Teen Follower will not respond, I made a list of the teens that were at Miss USA and crossed off the names of those mentioned in the above posts. I never discount Hawaii-they always seem to bring it when it counts. Maybe it is the flower in their hair that makes the judges smile-I don't know but HA always seems to make the cut to 15. Secondly, I have only seen 2 teen contestants live and in person, so I just picked from the faces on the map the ones that I liked. I did pretty well with Miss USA. State queens aren't usually assigned a PR team, but they often acquire one on their own. Nothing wrong with it, but I can tell from the comments that someone is responding to every negative comment with a positive one. Last year, everyone said that NJ and SC were too mature looking for Teen USA. However, they advanced to the top 5. Maturity is not a disadvantage at all at Miss Teen USA. A smart, well rounded teen can do school and compete . If the girls and family are unable to handle it, hand off to your first runner up. Today's Average Teen anywhere in America have a social life, play 3 sports, model, dance class, vocal class, acting class and maintain high GPA's. Entering college students couldn't possibly go to college for a week, then head to nationals and miss a week or two of school. It's not about "getting it all done," it's about what the college will allow, and a Labor Day weekend pageant will create huge problems for all the entering college students in the pageant. It's easier to get the exempt for high school, but NOT college. They would have to wait until spring to enter school. How ridiculous is that? This will definitely make it hard for the college students. Can you imagine the excitement of going to college, moving into a dorm, already paying for tuition, and then going to Miss Teen USA and winning? What a mess. Subject: Could the teen pageant already be rigged? Anyone notice that Nevada teen didn't sit with all the other teens during Miss USA, but she was sitting with DONALD TRUMP and her parents? Her dad is good friends with Donald....hmmm....automatic win perhaps without passing GO? That would be very, very sad for the pageant industry if so. Nevada teen probably got vip seating because the Atwell group hosted, with class and style, the Fashion Rocks event.. If I were Atwell, I would sit my teen there also. Subject: Could the teen pageant already be rigged? Anyone notice that Nevada teen didn't sit with all the other teens during Miss USA, but she was sitting with DONALD TRUMP and her parents? Her dad is good friends with Donald....hmmm....automatic win perhaps without passing GO? That would be very, very sad for the pageant industry if so. She needs to TRY more to be friendly with the other teens. Maybe when you have that kind of money, being nice just doesn't matter? Sad.

Nevada teen probably got vip seating because the Atwell group hosted, with class and style, the Fashion Rocks event.. If I were Atwell, I would sit my teen there also.
