Here's a good stat: I read yesterday that 20% of all high school males in the US bring a firearm to school at least once in their 4 years there. Think about that for a minute. That's 1 in 5. I went to a HS with about 2000 students. Let's say for arguement's sake that 1/2 of them are men. That's 1000 guys. And 200 of them are going to bring in a gun? That's 50 a year? With 180-something days in the school year, that's one gun almost every three or four days. Think back to your homeroom class and realize that if you were still in HS today, you could have a handful of kids in there carrying guns. So what the hell is going on in your country?

Statistics are always skewed to get a desirable outcome. Though I agree that kids dig guns, and like to bring their toys to school, a large part of that percentage most likely comes from the inter-city districts. I, luckily, knew and was friendly with a certain percentage of the kids who brought in guns. So, kudos for me. Also, I didn't go to school in a shitty area. Also, kudos for me. But, as we've sen lately, crazy white kids not only bring the guns in, but they use those mother fuckers. So, bam, cradle rock style, I could have been a stain on the wall also. So maybe the percentages would find that though more guns are brought into intercity schools, they're used more in suburban schools? I don't know, just wild speculation. I'd also like to know where these guns come from, because I'm pretty convinced that most come from the home, and should have gun locks on them.

Thanks for the statistic, though. Pretty freaky stuff.

Sure, numbers are just numbers and Don Henley said, "There's no such thing as truth, only data to be manipulated." But if that stat about kids bringing their gats to school doesn't concern you, then you've got issues. It's got nothing to do with living in a shitty area, Bisel. What about all those rich kids from affluent neighborhoods shooting up schools?

No one just hands out a good old fashioned beating anymore. Now everyone has to open fire on each other. What's up with that? Why couldn't Biggie and Tupac just settle their disputes with a nice backalley fight or some cloe slaw wrestling? They could've went on that show Grudge Match where John Pinnet was the ref. But instead, they had to shoot each other, and subsequentially robbed us of all of that great music they made.

So what is it? Is it apathetic parents? Is it a gangsta attitude running through our schools? Is it today's music? Is it just that things are just a mess? I tell you what, I wouldn't want to be in high school again. I had too many problems juggling women to dodge bullets.

friggin hi-larious

so yeah, i agree that i would NOT want to be a kid in school these days

whatever happened to good, healthy "meet me after school" bout and then a subsequent make-up handshake?

when did the kids cross the line to actual gunshots in the hallways and classrooms?
