that was the most racist and pigheaded thing i have ever seen. so what if osama took out some people. that aint right, but look how u.s. foreign interests kill and fuck over people every day. how dare we point the finger at them. maybe the u.s. shouldnt veto U.N. resolutions that would help protect palestinians from being shot and killed daily by israeli soldiers. bigot.

Hey, not to use a cliche, but we should not sink to their level! We don't want to just kill when we like, just like terrorists. I hate to say it, cause it is the typical fall-back statement in this kind of discussion, but we cannot just do what they do. We have to maintain calm, just to be the "better nation", for lack of a better term. But bin Laden is an exile, remember, so I can't even say "better nation". We are the better, uh, GROUP, I guess. I don't think bin Laden's actions are sanctioned (officially) by any Middle Eastern government.

Your point about the corrolations between bin Laden and al-Kalim is interesting.

Here's some conincidences for ya to cram in your noodle and think about: Bin Laden flees to Afghanastan. We ask the government to let him go. The government, the Taliban, says nah. We impose sanctions. The government suddenly lashes out against idolitry (sp?) and starts blowing up Buddhist statues all across the country, including the two oldest, largest statues of the Buddha standing in the world. And the couldn't just blow them up. The Taliban had to point out that they blasted off the Buddha's face and genitals first, but they ensure the world that it's nothing against the religion or the US. They just don't like statues anymore.
I ain't ready to take to the streets and start burning flags and all that crap, what's with this statue destroying bit? It reminded me of when Oliver Cromwell went tooling around England smashing churches and art and stuff because he didn't like it. We don't need another iconoclasm.
