Well, this same arguement can be applied to keeping guns in difficult to access places, such as safes. How about "Honey, what's the combination again, so I can shoot the intruder?" But I can see a gun lock combined with the secure place theory really slowing things down and making home security a joke.

Alright, I want to participate in this conversation, just let it be known that I do not approve of the "title."
I do not think there is anything that can be done to stop someone who wants to use a gun form using one. We can use trigger locks, which I think would be quicker than a "safe," but a child, or someone will figure a way to dismantle that. I don't know, maybe we should find a way to lessen crime?
