I never said I was explaining humanity or our motivations or whatever. I think that's what some narrow-minded people might assume that I was trying to do with this site. If you have that interpritation, I'm sorry. I don't claim to be an "authority" on the subject. We can "explore" the human mind by interacting with other humans. By thinking and discussing, humans, the "social animals", can share ideas and connect and keep society going. Humanity gives rise to civilization. The human race is made up of countless individuals. The interaction of these individuals creates society. Society changes as we change. Things change. I don't think I need "authority" to discuss "human consciousness" or any other topic. By "human consciousness" I mean our self-awareness, that which makes us more than animal. So the people that might call me or other people interested in social philosophy (or perhaps philosophy in general) "pompous, pretentious, etcetera" are perhaps not thinking before they label. Or they purposefully want to antagonize me. Who knows?

Anthony, no matter what you write on your web page, I would never call you "etcetera." Sometimes you just have to draw a line, and know when not to cross it.

i really doubt the sincerity of your apology. are you really sorry? how do i know you are sorry?

more goodness:

"The human race is made up of countless individuals"

dude, you paradigm so good, you should be a george bush speechwriter.

"Society changes as we change. Things change."

dude, i don't think i am ready for such paradigming. i think i will go and turn on some tv.

You can doubt my sincerity if you want. I can't do anything to make you believe me. I can only hope you trust me, or at least have faith in human nature. And if you're one of the slugs that I've mentioned before, then I really am NOT sorry to YOU. Did THAT sound sincere?

But here's hoping that you are not one of the people I used to know with nothing better to do than come to my site with noses in the air and fingers pointing.

I think that the theme of "change is the only constant in life" is a big part of modern culture...or rather, American pop culture. But you must disagree.

And I was purposely stating things that are obvious, for the effect. I used short, clipped sentences for a reason. That's how I wanted to present the thoughts I was laying down: a quick progression, stating the obvious for my own reasons.

I assume you can still do all of the above without having to be a Bush speech writer.

Perhaps I should have laid it out this way:

By thinking and discussing, humans, the "social animals", can share ideas and connect and keep society going.

Humanity gives rise to civilization.
The human race is made up of countless individuals.
The interaction of these individuals creates society. Society changes as we change.

But I love how you repost my words as if they were beached sharks. In other words, you expect them to die from their own weight. At which point you'll probably make fun of my bad metaphor...or is it bad poetry? Or both? Whatever, I think I'll make fun of MYSELF for that one...whew!

And I never wanted to prove that I am wrong and you are right.

Hey, and you KNOW I'll keep right on paradigming. And I KNOW that probably gets to you most of all.
