you never actually wipe your ass with it so people think its a souvenir.

You know that I don't think Knaus cheats any more than any other crew chief. No one can say their favorite team doesn't, or never has, cheated. Everyone does it. So I don't come down on the team for that, unless we find out they've been using airplane fuel or NOS, or traction control. When Gary Nelson was Kyle Petty's crew chief, they were the biggest cheaters in the sport. And they never got caught. You ought to read "Kyle at 100 MPH." He said some weekends they were actually afraid to take the car to the track. NASCAR knew Nelson was cheating, they just couldn't figure out what he was doing... so they hired him. Who better to catch cheaters than the best cheater in the sport. And when Nelson left Sabco, he pointed at one of the Mello Yello cars on the floor and said, "Don't ever bring that one to the track again. It will never pass Tech."
So they took the ID tags off that car and switched it with the tag from another car and then took it to the track. and Kyle got his last win for Mello Yello and then they retired that car. But Nelson was so good at cheating, even he couldn't find it during Tech.
Everyone cheats. Richard Petty once said, "If you aren't cheating, you aren't trying hard enough." Everyone does it. The problem is, Chad Knaus has taken it to a whole new level. He is doing something that no one else has even dreamed of doing. I believe he will get caught. I am willing to bet that every single time they find something illegal with the 48 team, Knaus wipes the sweat off his forehead and says 'thank God they missed the big one.' If you do something so illegal it'll get you suspended, you have do cheat with something else thats so obvious it gets found so they stop looking for the big one.

Remember that guy... whats his name..Smokey Yinuk(sp) he had the best damn garage in Florida or whatever. He won a 500 mile race by making half the pit stops any other team made. And they tore his car apart. At one point, officials took the gas tank out of the car. It was laying on the floor twenty feet from the car. He said, "I've had enough of this bullshit," and he got in the car and drove away... with the gas tank still laying on the floor.

I don't really care that Knaus cheats. But when he gets caught, and he will, I hope he gets tossed. Especially if its TC. But I don't think it will. When Richard Petty won his 200th race, NASCAR found the big engine while Petty was talking to Ronald Reagan. They let him keep the win but they took away his prize money and points. But there is so much money on the line now that they can't be doing that.
What I really hate about Knaus is his smug, better than thou attitude. He is probably the nicest man in the world, but that isn't how he comes across. And for the record, as a person, I do like Jimmie Johnson. But nobody is that good that often.
