apparently they don't use the same throttle that the street Camry uses.


You guys remember when Ford went from the T-Bird to Taurus in Cup? Ford made a big to-do out of it and at the unveiling, the curtain went up and there sat a Cup taurus and a street Taurus. France had a shit fit because no one was ever supposed to see those two cars side by side because one had absolutely nothing in common with the other.

I remember when David and I visited Andy Belmont's shop. belmont said nascar was insane with some of their rules and he pointed out the body as an example. He said nascar rules demand that the hood, roof and deck lid all be steel and that they must be factory-supplied street peices. The problem is, the Taurus deck lid is aluminum. So it was impossible to follow nascar's own rule. You can't have a deck lid for a Taurus that was identical to the street version, and still be made of steel.
