yes that kid may indeed be a great figure skater. I didn't say she wasn't. What I did say was that she has no buisness skating for a country that she hasn't even visited, and yet has citizenship.

Are you telling me that in the entire country of Georgia, there isn't a single woman who can skate as well as someone who wasn't even good enough to make the American team?

here is the point: the Olympics are about sportsmanship. Thats it. If a country cannot enter one of its own citizens... if it has to buy a citizen (payment is entry into the Olympics) than that country should not be permitted to enter.
Do you think for one minute that that girl would become a citizen of georgia if she wasn't promised entry into the Olympics? Not a freakin chance. Do you think she's going to move there? She hasn't even visited the country!

At the Calgary Olympics, Jamaica entered a bobsled team. Everyone laughed at them. Jamaica didn't stand a chance and they had never entered an athlete in the Winter Olympics in ANY sport. But some Jamaicans did it. They could have done what Georgia did... promise citizenship to Canadians or Americans who didn't make out national teams, but they didn't. They entered a pure Jamaican team. They got their asses handed to them, but by God they did it honestly.

You are wrong about that skater belonging in the Olympics. She wasn't good enough to make her own country's national team.
Remember something... that kid who got killed on the luge? He wasn't good enough either. He had never once raced at that level but he was all georgia had so off to the Olympics he went and he got killed.

If you can't make your own country's national team, you have no business being there.

How would Americans feel if they won the Gold medal in men's hockey, and then discovered that every player on the team was a Canadian? Same thing.
