Dad and I had parts in a Jimmy Hoffa documentary shot in the Detroit area years ago. Dad drove his "get away" Lincoln in downtown Detroit. They had to do several takes because every time he put the car in drive, the doors would lock, and the bad guys couldn't get in the car! Most everyone except the director was in stitches. And my 65 Chrysler New Yorker was an "extra" in the parking lot of the Red Fox restaurant were Hoffa was last seen. I remember they paid us $100 per day in Crowleys gift certificates. Cash would have been better! The actors earned their pay because they shot this in November, no snow but freezing cold. But the actual time of Hoffas dis-appearance was summer, so the actors were dressed lightly for hot weather, which was bad enough, but on top of that, they were eating ice cubes so that their breath wouldn't make any steam as it normally would in 20 degree weather.
