Subject: a true horror story

my cousin Kary and his wife teresa have 3 children. Jessica is 19 and lives in Edmonton, Alberta. Right now I would say she is very grateful to be living 3,000 miles away.
Their other 2 kids, Brandon 12 and Hailee, 7 still live at home. Right about now Hailee probably wishes she was living with Jessica and Brandon wishes he'd never been put up for adoption at birth.

Last Christmas Brandon and Hailee got a Wii game. This summer, Kary and Teresa decided they liked my 42" television and so they bought one that was even better... same size, but plasma.

Of all the games they have, Brandon and his friend like bowling the best.

Not long after they got the Wii, they decided the straps that hold the controler to your wrist were uncomfortable, so they removed them.

You know where this is going yet?

Kary's mother, my aunt, the Jeff Gordon fan, lives next door to Kary. She called me and said, "Did you hear what happened at the neighbor's house last night?"

What?

"You know what a Wii is?"

I said, "Oh my God.... let me guess."

she said, "Ok."

"Someone put a controller through the television."

"Yes. How did you know?"

I said, "Which TV?"

"The big one."

The kids were bowling and Brandon's friend let go of the controller and it went through the screen.

Do you know whats inside a plasma tv? It's like 40 pounds of jell-o.

kary called the insurance company, and as I expected, there is no 'stupid' clause in their policy. They have a $500 deductible and their rates would go up for 3 years.

According to their facebook page, there is a Wii up for sale.

As much as I'd like to, if I had a Wii, which I don't, I would never hook it up to my most expensive television and if I did, I'd sure as shit never take those wrist straps off.

I blame Kary and Teresa for part of it. They knew the wrist straps were off and they let the kids play that way.
