You guys ever see the movie "Class Action"? Gene Hackman plays an attorney who likes to help the little guy take on the big guy. His daughter is a lawyer for a huge fictional car company. This car company found out that one of their models is defective. If you make a right turn at 40 miles an hour with your left signal on, and you are hit in the right rear at the same time, the car will explode. The company figured this would happen in about a hundred cases, and of those, probably no more than a dozen people would sue so it was cheaper to just keep making the cars, and then pay any potential law suits.... Thats big business at its finest...

Toyota has ordered a recall of millions of cars and trucks because the accelerator gets stuck open. Its happening in about a dozen different models.... Toyota announced they are not going to make any more of any of those models until they figure out what the hell is happening.

You gotta give Toyota credit for doing that. I find it hard to believe that any big company would do it... that would be like Coke saying, "We're not going to make any more Coca Cola until we figure out why it comes out your nose when you cough." This move is going to cost Toyota billions but I think it will make them billions more... People are going to say, "Toyota is the only car company that cares about the people who buy their cars."

GM, Ford, Dodge, Honda and Kia are probably saying, "Oh shit" this morning.
