I agree that Frank isn't a bad guy, but he has to understand that Denise isn't 19 anymore. She has raised a family and is now ready to life on her terms. SHe wants to explore the things she either missed out on or gave up when she got married. Unfortunately Frank hasn't really grown in his life. He's an Army officer. Always has been, always will be. He has came around to the changes not necessarily because he agrees with it but because he saw how important it was to Denise. Just as he let her do things she let him get away with things.
