Subject: Yep that got me too! I also liked the gazebo scene when Denise told Jeremy that she WAS proud of him, even though he abused her. Denise is a stronger lady than I think she even realized, & know she is realizing it & I can't wait to see where she goes from here. Frank is still being an a**, maybe his talk with the soldier's father will cause him to reflect on his own actions where he too can forgive Jeremy. Catherine really nailed the bar scene, this show just keeps getting better & better!!
In reply to: Texasbrat 's message, "The Bar Scene -- Loved it when Denise gave her explanation of "I hate being known as someone's daughter, wife, mother, & I want to be me" I think all women go through this at various times in their lives, & they all have to come to terms with it, It doesn't mean their life was awful, but that identity is no longer who they are." on 07:04:13 07/16/07 Mon

[> You're right, TB, that almost all women go through some version of that emotion at some time in their lives. I know I did. The difference for me is that I realized that I was allowing myself to be defined by my relationships, and I was OK w/ that for a long time. Part of being shy, I think. But Denise woke up to the fact father rudely, and that's why she'e so pissed now, and so forceful in her transformation. CB has taken a well written character and made her so real. It's wonderful to see both Denise and CB grow... -- judy, 09:15:46 07/17/07 Tue [1]

[> [> oops.......make that "rather" rudely....it's tough typing w/ fingernails. My son's getting married in two weeks, and I'm trying acrylic nails for the first time in years. They look great, but they're sure hard to work with. -- judy, 09:18:57 07/17/07 Tue [1]

[> [> Our relationships with family & friends are part of what defines us as individuals. Roxy is a great example, her relationship with her mom when she was a child is what made her the person she is now. But, as she pointed out, we all have two families, the one we're born into & the one we choose. Best of luck with the nails, my MIL started wearing them a couple of years ago (after she retired), she says they were hard to get used to wearing. -- Texasbrat, 11:16:43 07/17/07 Tue [1]
