What a brilliant performance by Catherine again this week as well. Catherine's performances each week are so riveting and I'll say it again, she just encompases the characters that she plays and your right there with her on the journey. What a testiment to Catherine's talent and her craft. Loved how Denise expressed exactly what she wanted and needed from Frank (Frank is still not on my good list this week).Taking the initiative bringing Jeremy's stuff back in the house in front of Frank, stating to Claudia that she needed to get his room back exactly as it was before so he'll never know what his father did and how hurtful it was. And then the bar scene just said it all, Denise is definitely on her way. Also, how many of you just knew that Denise was going to be there when Jeremy left. I sure did and how heartbreaking. I'm so ready for next week and who do you think will succumb, Roland or Pamela? Take Care! :o)

[> Loved the bar scene & how it explained Denise's life, while I like to believe she enjoyed that part of her life, she is now ready to move forward. Her son has left the nest, hubby will leave for duty again soon, so she will be alone wants to fill that void. Pam or Roland -- weeell, I think Pam b/c of Marilyn's affair & the story could have Marilyn find out & have to decide who to tell/not tell. I think Roland will find out that he likes his life despite all the questions he has about it. Is it just me or are these people going through some sort of mid-life searching (it's not a crisis, unless you make it one)? -- Texasbrat, 07:40:15 07/16/07 Mon [1]

[> I loved the scene at Roxy's party...where Denise stated what we all know....that she's tired of being a doormat, & that its time for Denise to find Denise. When the bus pulled away at the end, I just knew Denise was going to be there...even if Jeremy didn't see his Mom, she was there. I loved it when Denise went to see Jeremy at the gazebo, & he broke down telling her that he wanted to make her proud of him again & she didn't miss a beat in telling him that she WAS proud of him. Despite his abusiveness towards her, Denise has forgiven him. It shows a great sense of strength from Denise, strength she probably didn't know she had. And when she started carting Jeremy's stuff back in, the look she shot to Frank was like "don't even try & stop me..." Inside... -- Jennifer (Twinny call if you can!!), 07:40:27 07/16/07 Mon [1]

I really felt bad for Roland...he had 3 shots, and you can just tell how lonely he is. I'm glad he's got the others for friends, and that he is part of their inner circle.

I also felt bad for Claudia Joy...she was between a rock and a hard place, and I hope Denise doesn't hold a grudge for too long. If I were a parent, knowing what I know about what Jeremy did to his mother, I'm not sure I'd want my daughter to be alone with him. Jeremy hasn't earned that right or that trust yet, and yes while he's gone a long way in the right direction since the start, he still has to prove that if he gets angry he's not gonna go off and clean someone's clock. Denise shouldn't be mad at Michael either, Michael is a father trying to protect his children. At least Michael was willing to help Jeremy, something that Jeremy's own father isn't willing to do.

Did anyone catch the line from the Amanda? When she was yelling at Michael, about how he wasted MY MOTHER's life? Not Mom's life...I wonder if Amanda really isn't Michael's, and that Michael adopted Amanda (he has always been her Dad) and that's what Claudia's secret is.

Roland or Pamela for the affair? I hope neither...I could see it being Roland, in Pamela's case Chase hasn't been gone that long and I would really think *less* of Pamela...I don't condone adultery, but given all that Roland has been through....

Well gosh we have to wait a whole week LOL!

[> [> I think Frank's talk with the soldier's father started Frank to the realization that even though he may not like things Jeremy has done, he is still his son. I don't think Frank knows how to express his love for Jeremy to Jeremy b/c the card was typewritten all the way down to the signature. Even if he had typed the main message cuz his handwriting his bad, he could have handwritten the signature. Didn't register Amanda's my mother statement, but did notice Michael seemed like he felt terribly helpless & didn't know what to say or do. -- Texasbrat, 07:51:09 07/16/07 Mon [1]

[> [> [> Frank's note could have been something he ordered while he was overseas. Wasn't there a gift of some kind w/ it? I kind of missed the details of that scene. But I still think you're right about Frank not being able to express his love. The best he can do is say he's proud. And the scene w/ the fallen soldier's Dad was meant to get him thinking about what's really important to him. He'll be watching over Jeremy now that he's in the Army. What crisis awaits, do you think? -- judy, 09:07:44 07/17/07 Tue [1]

[> [> [> [> I don't care for Frank, but I do think he can express love a little better than what is said above. He's certainly open with Denise, but with Jeremy he told him he missed him when he was gone, and was happy to see him etc. That is, until Jeremy told him what he'd done to Denise. -- Theresa, 09:54:29 07/17/07 Tue [1]

[> [> [> [> Huumm, what crisis?? We know Jeremy has to go through basic training & guess it's in SC, at Ft. Jackson, in Columbia. So, he could get his tail whipped by another recruit. I kinda see Jeremy being a bit like Denise -- he's always been Major Sherwood's son, & is looking for his identity, along with escaping his past. Yes, I think he's running away to an extent, but he has also been pushed away, too. Here's hoping he is on his way to becoming a better person. -- Texasbrat, 11:04:49 07/17/07 Tue [1]

[> Terrific episode again this week and I totally agree KH. CB just continues to impress and she is definitely taking charge of her life. As far as Claudia goes, Jennifer I disagree. Denise isn't holding a grudge, I think she's hurt more than anything else and Claudia knows she hurt Denise otherwise she would have said it in her pissed speech at the bar. And don't get me started on Michael, he's about second on my list under Frank. He too has that Alpha male thing going on as well, just in a different way. Michael being willing to help Jeremy is a big joke imho because he said the words but didn't put action to them and then sent him away when Jeremy went by the house to see Amanda. -- Kathy, 14:19:19 07/16/07 Mon [1]

[> [> He could tell Jeremy was in a bad way, he even said so and it would have been the perfect opportunity for him to hold up his word. I'm not worried about Denise and Claudia's friendship, they'll be ok. As far as Pamela and Roland are concerned, it could go either way, but either one fooling around in my book is bad and wrong no matter what the circumstances. I think I'll lose respect for whichever one does have an affair. And Frank can get deployed anytime soon, he is definitely on my crap list..lol. -- Kathy (of course Denise would be there to see Jeremy off), 14:21:10 07/16/07 Mon [1]

[> As usual Catherine gave an outstanding performance that leaves me glued to my screen!!! :-) Go inside for length... my take on this week's ep... -- Kristen, 20:06:07 07/17/07 Tue [1]

Ok first onto Frank- I think people are being way too harsh on Frank-put yourself in this guy's shoes-he goes away, comes home after almost being killed and finds out the love of his life was being abused by not a stranger, but their OWN SON. I dont care what Jeremy's reasons/excuses were. This boy is 18 years old and had NO right (like NO MAN HAS ANY RIGHT) to hit a woman, especially his mother!!!! Frank was being protective of his wife, even if it meant throwing his son out. Even Denise was saying (when he was tossing Jeremy's things out) I know you think you are doing this for me..Denise loves Frank but she also loves her son, despite what he did (as she said TO HER). The courage and love of Denise was so beautiful to watch as she stood up to Frank by telling him stop it and find my son-just WOAH... onto Jeremy-Denise if you will notice was happy to see him and told him she was proud of him and has always been-just again the strength of that young woman was unreal...BUT if you do notice Denise doesn't hug Jeremy-she strokes his face and brushes his arm-which says to me Denise loves him but has yet to forgive him fully (great acting by CB in this scene!!!!! :))... onto Claudia Joy-again I disagree- Denise asked her best friend if Amanda knew where Jeremy was -she says I cant force Amanda to tell me-Im sorry but the girl is living under your roof and rules...all Denise wanted was to know where he was and if he was safe. I hate to say it but Claudia Joy was wrong-yes she was protecting her daughter but Denise needed to know her son was okay...as for Michael-oh boy was D-girl pissed w. him!!! The LOOK she gives when she said Michael's name (not the same pissed look she gave Frank but close to it!! LOL). Finally, the bar..LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS SCENE!!! :) We so get to see what Denise has been thinking all along and finally said it aloud!! YOU GO GIRL!!! As for everyone else...they just all rock!!! Roxy and her mom made me cry :( Roland made me sad :( This show is just unbelievable-cant wait to see who has the affair (IF it happens at all LOL)...

[> [> RE: Claudia Joy forcing Amanda to tell. Amanda is basically a grown woman, if she's stubborn there's very little that Claudia Joy can do if she doesn't want to tell. Should she take away all of her things? Resort to torture? Kick her out of the house? I mean really, what can anyone do if another stubborn person has a piece of information that they don't want to reveal? Amanda's parents didn't even know about her stance on the war or her affiliation with Jeremy until recently. Amanda keeps to herself, and there's very little anyone can do to get things out of her if she doesn't want to reveal them. After Amanda saw how much Denise was hurting, she took her to see Jeremy. But that was Amanda's doing. To blame Claudia Joy for a secret Amanda is keeping isn't right. -- Theresa, 17:12:24 07/18/07 Wed [1]
