Chose your words wisely ladies. Besides we already have one of the names and all she is, is a crown chaser who was in the pageant and has been for a number of years and has yet to take home the title. The Mrs title is all about family NOT work, and my friend Shannon is all about her kids and husband, you can say what you want about her, but that might come back to get you. Yes, Katey was lovely, but in a pageant this small, I don't think you can call the outcome weird. Katey is not in great shape. She could do very well if she lost weight, but she is no way pageant ready. The two other MA women were heads and shoulders above her. The 1st runner up was lovely. Even though I'm a go getting in competing I can't seem to come out on top. I have tried all sorts of adjustments thinking it will help but still no luck. The vision of Mrs America varies from year to year and from state to state. States in the north and northeast typically send somewhat older contestants. Smaller states send what they have. Large southern states tend to send former USA contestants. I don't know if there is a time to quit fir you. Personally every year has different contestants. But if you're in your mid to late 30s and have tried for your state title at least three times I'd say it might be time to look at another system or get an honest evaluation from a good coach. -- no name, 20:08:23 07/11/10 Sun YOU really need to be beautiful to win America. Would you recommend the standard interview suit, or do you think it would be advisable to go with a more "fashion-forward" dress. Looking at last year's photos, there appeared to be a mixture of both. South Carolina, Colorado, and Virginia wore dresses, however, Andrea was in a standard suit. Interview suit. I am a judge and would much rather see the classic suit. (NT) -- My thoughts, 08:01:56 07/08/10 Thu The trend now is a dress. Suits have become outdated. Judges want to see a contestant looking fresh and modern. A dress is your best bet! -- Any good judge would know this :), 12:27:23 07/08/10 Thu I agree. You can't go wrong with a good suit. A dress is hit or miss. There is not one right or wrong outfit. Ladies need to find what fits their style and personality as well as something that is going to make them look and feel fabulous and look ready for the job. I think it looks classy and dressy at the same time. I wore a similar combination at my state pageant this year and got several very nice compliments on it. It's not necessary, however judges like it when you go into an interview with a "plan", meaning you already know how you're going to use the title. If you have something you're passionate about and can utilize the title to publicize it, then by all means do it. It will help you tremendously in interview.
