Subject: Although I am 42 and way past my 20's, I have to agree with you. Very articulate and intelligent response. If you don't like the age requirements, we do have the choice to look for a pageant that does meet our needs.

In reply to: Want an age bracket? Try BOA 's message, "Great discussion! Remember that we are considered adults at the age of 18; are allowed to vote, marry, serve in the armed forces & potentially give our lives for our country all at the age of 18. I can't imagine someone telling me I can't compete for the title of Mrs. America because I'm not OLD enough to embody what a married woman truly is. Chances are at 18 years old I wouldn't stand a chance against a 30 year old anyway, but how fair would it be for that opportunity to be taken away from me? Age discrimination is no different than gender or race discrimination. We have enough of that in the workplace, can't we keep it out of pageantry? If you want a pageant that has age restrictions, then go find one that meets your criteria, but don't ask the pageants who accept ALL of us to change the rules just to assuage a few. Mrs. America doesn't seem to discriminate based on age, Each year is very unpredictable. I've never seen a pattern in this system & I like it that way," on 23:35:08 07/14/10 Wed
