I would like to clarify, and let you all know that my crown has not and will not be "taken away" by anyone. I am not having any financial difficulty and am well prepared to go to Nationals in July. I have represented the state of Maine and the International Pageant system with integrety, poise and grace. Wearing the Maine crown and banner has been my dream since I was a little girl. They say that everything happens for a reason. Sometimes when you are in the middle of a struggle you don't know what that reason is. The horrible things that happened to me as a young mother were all part of God's plan to get me where I am today. Isn't it amazing that HE knew that my dream would come true, and at the age of 41, after having four babies, stand on the stage and have the crown placed on my head and the MRS Maine banner on my shoulder??? God's plan was that I would use my crown and the support of the Internatiional Pageant system to share my personal experience and change the stigma surrounding domestic violence. In the time it has taken you read this post, 5 women will have been punched, slapped, kicked or otherwise phycially abused by someone they love. Costs to go to Nationals for any pageant runs well into the thousands that includes USA, United States and America, they are all the same. | |

Kelly resigned her crown for the right reasons and they had nothing to do with her behavior, or any fraud on her part or any threatened lawsuit by her first husband and former abuser. She will continue her work with the issue of domestic abuse without her crown. No one on this board has information on the reason this occurred. 25 years knowing Kelly...hmmm...personal details of Kelly's finances....knowledge that Kelly's abuser threatened a lawsuit as is his usual threat when those he abuses speak out...no too tough to figure out who you are.
